CloneDisk: who's the developer?

#1 Post by david.lynch »

Hey everyone,

CloneDisk is by far one of the best tools for MBR, Partition, Disk, VMWare Disk images vmdk/vmx/vhd, and much more:

-save/restore the MBR or BS,
-delete the layout of the drive, create disk, create a main partition,
-wipe with 0's,
-resize partition (negative growth works but be careful) and volume
-create a raw image file,
-make a vmdk/vmx from a raw image file to boot your cloned disk in vmware,
-turn a physical disk raw image file into a VHD file and the other way around,
-install grub4dos MBR,
-do various operations on the registry around booting,
-copy all files from one logical drive to another,
-format any device to fat16/fat32/ntfs (includig usb pen),
-read faulty devices (with bad sectors for instance),
-backup & restore from devio (imdisk server-end),
-perform speed tests,
-edit the partition table.

You can find it here. But where/who is the developer and how contact him or get updated versions?

CloneDisk (http://labalec.fr/erwan/?cat=26) is another utility I haven't seen mentioned around and it sure does appear like a worthy addition for the tweaker's toolbox.

Portability is untested, but the 32-bit version carries a 'config.ini' file in the program folder and both versions ran fine after extracting from the supplied archives.

Download CloneDisk latest release (currently v2.3.5) from http://labalec.fr/erwan/?page_id=42.
