Google Music Players

#1 Post by Ascend4nt »

So I have a collection on Google Music that I'd like to play from anywhere. But the problem is you need a browser with flash installed, or a standalone client that typically needs to be installed. Does anyone know of any program that can play google music portably?

The players I've looked at:

Download for newest version (1.8.3) seems broken, I found v.1.8.1 at:

This one seems portable in the sense that the settings are written to the program folder. However, it requires Flash player installed. It takes a hefty 175MB+ memory in my tests, and I watched that number climb continuously.. though that's probably about the same memory consumption as what I saw opening the site in Firefox. Opening the Google Chrome Music app is different, but Chrome is so wasteful with like 10 processes loaded for just a few extra addons :?

This requires an install, and Flash for non-IE browsers, as well as .NET 2.0. I haven't looked into where it stores its settings.

Any other suggestions?

But Chrome Portable has a built-in flash version. And you can add flash dll's to Portable Opera, too.
