Bittorrent has confirmed that the uTorrent.com and Bittorrent.com web servers were hacked this morning. From 7:10am to 9am NY time, a fake antivirus malware app was served up instead of the usual uTorrent.exe file when users went to download. Just a heads up for anyone that may have downloaded it during that time.
UPDATE: As webfork correctly pointed out, it was uTorrent.com only. Bittorrent.com was not hacked.

ooo thanks for the info...
I'm still using the older version 2 of utorrent though didn't need any of the new features and if it isn't broken... well never saw any need to update it.

There's a couple of popular sites that don't actually host the installer but link to the authors website instead. I know snapfiles.com and majorgeeks.com do that.

There's an update saying that it was just uTorrent.com -- thanks for posting.
