I got this just now, repeatedly. Is something amiss?

Same here, when attempting forums search. :o

Yet, searching freeware entries from TPFC main page works fine...

In other words, it's a shortcut to quickly access our site's search entry from DuckDuckGo. So if you have their service as your default search engine, all you need to do is type:

Code: Select all

!pfw <search term>
... to see results from our site.

Interestingly, we're the only site with that functionality under the 'freeware' keyword:

Note that portableapps.com has one as well: !papps.

Could it be related to this post/thread?

I'm not sure, but I doubt it: the "!pfw" search in DuckDuckGo just directs to the search of TPFC catalogue and not a search of the Forum.
Catalog search also performs a forum search to show related threads. (It's a small "forum topics matching your query" box that you may have missed.)

I suspect the database server went rogue. It totally stopped accepting connections 2 day ago.

After restarting the db server, things seem to be back to normal now.
