Can you post a link to that forum? I want to see if it's phpBB and whether they are using some addon that permits this.

@Andrew Lee
It is funny but one cannot put Windows 8 in brackets:

Code: Select all

(Windows 8)
(Windows 8)
Cool emoticon { 8) } always interferes, I do not know whether Windows 8 is cool but for sure this is not cool at all.

You can disable graphical smileys in any post by ticking the "disable smilies" checkbox under the textbox.

Example: (Windows 8)

@SYSTEM
Your ideas and suggestions are always of great help for me! ;)
I am on this forum for more than 3 years and it seems I have never noticed Disable smilies check-box, what a striking blindness!

"Oculos habent et non videbunt"...as my old pal Cicero used to mutter...;-)

I automatically hit "Preview" or "Submit" and that's it. I must have seen Disable smilies check-box once but I have completely forgotten about it. By the way I rarely use emoticons and I saw the "Windows 8 in brackets" joke today.

Hmmm, I can probably patch the code to make the title link to the last unread msg, but it will happen across the board.

Would anyone be displeased with this new (non-phpBB) behaviour?

Oh, I was hoping it is only a simple switch or setting somewhere... No need to go out of your way for this one. Thank's!

Hey, Andrew.

can you make the [ pre ]-formatted text more distinguishable? It can be easily missed now if you are not looking for it.
Like give it a different color or something as in stackoverflow.

FYI, shown as pre-formatted red text only in alternative board skin (prosilver).

Yeah,
but less error-like red and maybe a background color. :wink:

Like this or this but with a light grey (242x3) background like the first image.

And while we are at it, could you slip "Consolas" or something more readable before "Courier New" in content.css of the forum themes? (under .codebox code)?

@Midas LOL, you can delete and report the Admin's posts?

I like the blue example. It's very readable with my feed reader (Feedbro in dark mode).

Thanks. Keep in mind that the text background should ensure it is visible even if the theme is also blue for example.

Also, I don't think Midas can handle the level of aliasing in you screenshot!
