Freak (developed due to PortableFreeware feedback)

#1 Post by guinness »

I'm developing a tool that utilises the Adblock Lists by Fanboy. It will work with IE, Opera & SRWare Iron and the Portable Versions too.

The UI is not important at all in an app like this, in my opinion! The functionality is!

Will any automatism be available? Like, say...I start the app and it automatically downloads the list (using last used settings), installs it and close itself?

Yeh there will be :D Give me a week and I should have a beta ready. I never like to rush applications as I want a solid product before going stable.

To confirm my first impression, will this app download and install ad-block lists?

Also will QTWeb browser be supported?
Based on Nokia's Qt framework (former Trolltech) and Apple's WebKit rendering engine (also used by Apple Safari and Google Chrome).

It will use the Lists created by Fanboy >> http://www.fanboy.co.nz/ therefore if QTWeb can support one of these Lists then I will be glad to add or I could perhaps convert the Lists to a more appropriate format, but I don't use QTWeb so I would require a little more detail.

Note: I will add IE, Opera & SRWare Iron to the list of supported browsers but not Firefox as this can be done with the AdBlockPlus Addon!

Also note that SeaMonkey supports the Adblock Plus addon.
