Creating GUI Apps

After meddling with too much c++, creating keyloggers and stuff, I have decided to venture into GUI-based apps. I have just downloaded wxWidgets after doing a little research, but I still dunno how to work it.

I need something like Visual Basic but (hopefully open-source) freeware or under GPL. No compiling libraries or stuff. Just install and code. Any recommendations?

you looked at wxDev-C++?

its a combo of Dev-C++ and wxWidgets, least if i remember right, :P
