I think you might have misunderstood what this is -- it wouldn't require JPE unless they started using a separate program to interface with it. As it just requires a browser like Firefox or another supported browser to connect to their servers which host applications, it should work fine. Some plugins for Firefox do save settings outside of the application folder.

Its a great twist on the cloud desktop idea and (assuming you had a net connection) could make it so you only ever need one portable app.

My mistake I thought this was a separate program that ran as an add-on.

I believe Sumatra works as an add-on from the Firefox folder (but is obviously portable before adding to FireFox).

Since the application comes with an installer I assumed non-portability and a need for some container (pessimistic yes)

There is a desktop version,what used to be called Xenecode
You can get a 14 day trial from links in the site you linked to.

I think its already been "virtualized" though and cant be redirected.
