An old friend has returned.

#1 Post by guinness »

For those who are aware of the notorious Martik, it seems he's back...http://rcecafe.net/?p=168 (this is the blog of the original software developer) It appears the developer of CFF Explorer Or http://ntcore.com/exsuite.php has had his program ripped off by Martik. It goes to show this "developer" has little imagination and skill to create an original idea!

I thought I would make those aware that if you download a program called "Show Me The Loaded Drivers!" then the original can be found here >> http://ntcore.com/drvlist.php

Thanks for the heads up. I posted a note (not yet approved) to the blog you linked to.

@guinness Will you be adding the application "Driver List" to TPFC?

And more importantly is "Driver List" portable?

Thanks

DriverView does that and more and is only 31 KB. Not sure if it supports 64-bit though.

I've just updated the entry to reflect the fact that it has a x64 version.
Thanks!

One way to move against Martik is to leave a note with Web of Trust:

http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/marti ... ogspot.com

There's a lot worse people in the world than this guy, but I feel like its sticking up for the freeware developers who contribute to our site.

ghacks.net wrote a piece about CD, DVD, Blu-Ray Recovery Software yesterday, featuring a software "by" Martik.

http://www.ghacks.net/2011/06/03/cd-dvd ... -software/

The original software is @ http://www.008soft.com/products/cd-data-recovery.htm

I tried to post a comment on ghacks page to alert Martin Brinkmann of ghacks about Martik's plagiarism practices but it was not published / ignored.

Now, we all know Martik is a fraud. But what's worse, imo, is that a popular tech blog gives the stage to a guy that steals other peoples work, distribute keygens and who knows what else. Martin claims to be a journalist. Well, it's really a shame then that he did not do a proper research before publishing his review. And it's a bigger shame he decided to side with a fraud and not publish my comment. I even supplied links to WOT and rcecafe.net. Martin had a chance to do the right thing and retract his article or even better, tell the '"whole world" about this Martik guy and his disgraceful practices but he chose not to. ghacks lost a reader and I really hope others will follow.

Whats even worse is sites like Brothersoft & Softpedia are hosting this blatantly ripped off software.

Good catch. I posted a note -- hopefully it takes.

Brothersoft doesn't surprise me, but that is disappointing to hear about Softpedia.

It appears that the comment/post by 'ChemZ' at Ghacks has been referenced by another comment/post at AddictiveTips and AT has since disabled the download link and posted an update reflecting such.
