Vox Recording

#1 Post by donald »

I am currently looking for a good Voice activated recording program.

I would like to be able to set it to listen to a specific sound range, and decibel level.

I would also like this program to be portable.

I would be very happy if it could be done from something already found on this website.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Newer versions of Audacity (not the version available from PortableApps.com) will do what you describe

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/features-1.3-a

Its called "Sound Activated Recording." As far as I know, the client will record based on a pre-set volume level.

Don't think the official version is portable.

Edit: according to the Audacity entry, it is portable. I'm assuming you install, copy the folder contents elsewhere, then uninstall? Anyone able to field this one?

Old thread update: although it's not portable, this is a great solution for the problem described here: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=24250
