Massive Collection of Freeware

#1 Post by TenaciousD »

Hi guys. Here's a little gift for you all:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

Note: I only found this link because they linked to my site (http://freegameslist.weebly.com/game-cr ... tools.html) and the list was created by the users: Panzer and Disrupted and not by me.
Its BIG, REALLY BIG!
Enjoy!!! ( I know I did :) )

Link 4 seems to include some descriptions along with a raw list. Among them: http://redobackup.org/

Redo Backup has the most features coupled with the simplest, most user-friendly interface:

Easy graphical user interface boots from CD in less than a minute
No installation needed; runs from a CD-ROM or a USB stick
Saves and restores Windows and Linux machines
Automatically finds local network shares
Access your files even if you can't log in
Recover deleted pictures, documents, and other files
Internet access with a full-featured browser to download drivers
Live CD download size is only about 200MB

As a former user of the K-Meleon browser and of its forum myself, I knew about those threads. It just never occurred to me to post them here, which I think is great, boosting the half-life of the compilation and the selfless work of its authors. Thanks for that, TenaciousD. 8)

Old thread update: One of the real gems I found from TenaciousD's site is no longer online, but moved to SourceForge. It's unclear if it's still in development, but there are suggestions of a new maintainer a few months ago.

Old site: https://web.archive.org/web/20180707170 ... ackup.org/

New site: https://sourceforge.net/projects/redobackup/

I'd never heard of redo backup - I used CloneZilla a few times - nice find

New home seems to be https://rescuezilla.com/ - Rescuezilla (formerly Redo Backup and Recovery)
Source https://github.com/rescuezilla/rescuezilla - see changelog on the releases page for a loooooooooooong list of changes to v1.0.5 (2019-11-08)
Note: Rescuezilla relies on Patreon support for continued development.
