Re: Uninstalr - Batch uninstall software in Windows

To confirm: Are you typing to the "search" field within Uninstalr? It's the bar at the bottom of the screen, under the results list. No, I did not. You are right, now it works great, even better than with the competition, thanks to your "hide matching" field. Guess, my main prob...

Re: Uninstalr - Batch uninstall software in Windows

Just type "con" and it will show only all apps whose name or publisher name contains Does not work here. The list remains the same, no filter is applied, it does not even jump to the first entry that starts with the letter I typed. The standard way to do this in Windows in Display Setting...

Re: Uninstalr - Batch uninstall software in Windows

The search kicks off right away when starting up the app ... I wouldn't call it unusual, as this is how every uninstaller works. Indeed, you are right. It did not occur to me, because their lists come up so fast. Whereas your list takes forever, especially on the first run. But I do understand that...

Re: Uninstalr - Batch uninstall software in Windows

Purely subjective, others may disagree: Pro: The results were very satisfying. It did the job thoroughly. The Filter fits my needs (don't list Windows components, only show software installed in the last 7 days) New Software Monitor ... Con: The search for installed software takes at least a full mi...

Re: FreeShow - presentations

Thank you hamasaki. I followed your detailed instruction, and it works exactly like you said it would. I was not aware that I must provide a hard-wired path. With assigned drive letters always changing on my portable drive, this means I cannot pre-define the call-up. When reading your tip You can us...

Re: FreeShow - presentations

All electron files stored in the app folder, nothing in appData. Interesting. What Windows are you on? And what Freeshow version? And where is your app-folder located? On a portable drive? Maybe I misunderstood. I applied the '--user-data-dir' parameter when starting up freeshow. Am I supposed to a...

Re: Qalculate! cross-platform desktop calculator

Fantastic! Great hint  , it really seems to work fine without that folder. Now I am down to 996 files that occupy 220 MB, 223 MB physical. Before it was over 1GB physical. And I save another 200 files by throwing out all other calculators — not needed anymore, except for QwikTape, it's nice to...

Re: Qalculate! cross-platform desktop calculator

The most comprehensive calculator I have ever seen. Totally mind-blowing. Wanted to try it out real quick, ended up spending a whole hour on it. And still feel like I only scratched the surface. It's got everything I could think up. Everything. Including a customizable interface. User-friendly handl...

Re: FreeShow - presentations

Not a big fan of Electron, but for this I may make an exception. First impression is great and it even runs on my outdated Win7.

Thanks also for the portable instruction. I would have missed the 7z-file inside the zipped exe.

Re: KeyNote - tabbed outline editor

Keynote NF (New Features) is now at 1.8.0 Beta 1. https://github.com/dpradov/keynote-nf I tested it and it fixes all the issues I had experienced with earlier versions. The Search function has been improved, and also Web Capture and internal linking within the same knt-file. The history now allows s...

I'm a BIG fan of MemPad by the way. I have found it to be incredibly robust and useful over the years. Same here. Fantastic speed and reliability. Development has not stalled over the years, many new ini-options have been added. Among many other improvements, you can now set your text margins left ...
