Re: SwiftSearch

I tried this the other day when I needed to search a USB 2TB backup drive in a hurry. 'Everything', which is great, was already running on the fixed drives. I didn't want to add a huge USB to Everything's config, settings or DB SwiftSearch : opened straight up, no config needed, clicked on the drive...

Re: Aiseesoft Total Media Converter Platinum Portable

@ZZZ I have done this and it works ok The method I used was the same as Midas's point 2 above ie start the install it then displays something like 'checking offer is valid at GlarySoft' then prompts for your 'Language' STOP here and you will find a temp entry (where Midas said) that starts with an u...

External Viewer - easily allows a call to your own progs which might simply modify the file being edited eg spellchecker or compile it -...

Re: TextDiff

LOL
Thanks I_am_Baas - I've been running exactly that version since August 2010
It came from a site saying 4.5, the exe says 4.5 but sure enough you are right - The Help>About says 4.6
So no new version, I can stop scratching.

The DB_entry is now at version 4.6. but I can't see that anywhere else.

Re: Fifth Amendment doesn't protect encrypted hard drives

Re: Last free IcoFX

User Midas has helpfully contributed a fresh source for this app and I did some checking around. I don't know if this is of use to anyone but while I had the data I thought I'd post it here as it seems a recurent issue. The version referred to on its entry page was the "portable edition" Z...

Hi guinness, 'point the blame'? - Er , I love CCleaner, its brilliant and I use my own variations winapp2 all the time. Where you said 'I can't think of anything else ...to be added' I was simply suggesting an area of CCleaner where you could exercise your VBscript skills. It would be a challenge fo...

I thought CCleaner failed to detect and tidy un-installed (ie portable) browsers etc
that it would otherwise process?
