Re: X-Datacrow addition

Hi JohnTHaller, JavaGet is shown to the user only if Java is not found in the predefined path . In all other cases, simply it does nothing; this behavior is completely transparent to the user, so he is "disturbed" only at first execution of the X-Software-J, and only if Java is not found in the pred...

Re: X-Datacrow addition

Hi JohnTHaller, Most PFC users prefer to use their own separate menu, that's what I'd meant. I was thinking also to these cases (for example, on my work PC I use PStart daily), simply I forgot to mention them... Anyway, the structure I depicted above can be managed also by PStart without any problem...

Re: X-Datacrow addition

Hi JohnTHaller, X-Programs-J (i.e. whose require Java) can both run in isolation ("solo") mode or in a wPP Menu environment. I had a bit of trouble following what you'd written, likely due to language differences, It is quite normal, because our projects are based on two different folder structures ...

Re: X-Datacrow addition

Hi JohnTHaller, if Java is missing, the JavaGet utility download and put Java inside a winPenPack structure, in the Lib\Java subfolder; all the X-Programs placed under the same structure (usually under a winPenPack menu) will share that Java binaries. I believe he means solo, without the WPP menu wh...

Re: JPEGView

Hi webfork, Please note that JPEGView is not natively portable; to let the program save the settings into the program folder, and use it from an usb device, is necessary to modify the row n. 18 on the JPEGView.ini, putting StoreToEXEPath=true otherwise, the settings and the db files will be saved in...

Re: XBlender V2.49b Rev 8

Hi JohnTHaller, TPFC follow its own rules for listing software, but I checked that As discussed in the other thread, TPFC as well as Andrew himself will list 'native' portable versions first unless major functionality in the app itself is broken. Things like portablization of most recently used file...

Re: Switching X-Inkscape to Inkspace Portable hosted by Inks

Hi JohnTHaller, I think that the problem pointed out by zandet2 is another one: if a (not English mother language, let's say Italian) user wants to install Inkscape Portable localized in Italian, could remain a little confused if, after choosing Italian as installation language (I perfectly know tha...

Re: Switching X-Inkscape to Inkspace Portable hosted by Inks

Hi JohnTHaller, At this point in the conversation, I'm starting to lean back to my original position as the WPP crew doesn't seem interested in getting consideration from the Inkscape folks. We've been working with Inkscape for years now on this and helped get Inkscape itself modified to better supp...

Hi webfork, At this point in the conversation, I'm starting to lean back to my original position as the WPP crew doesn't seem interested in getting consideration from the Inkscape folks. please, wait a moment, don't despair... we are (and have always been) interested that the authors be aware of our...

Re: Switching X-Inkscape to Inkspace Portable hosted by Inks

Hi JohnTHaller, I am ZioZione, of winPenPack Team, but I am an estimator of all the (well done) portable software. Oh, yes, because the solution was so simple: redoing the "installation" with the additional language selected... I mean no one has even reported any confusion with it due to the fact th...
