Re: Opera, Portable Edition 10.62 and 10.70 Build 9053 Relea

Good news. I'm not planning to switch myself (from standard Opera with the "Multi User=0" setting), but additional choice is always a good thing.

I added a link to the Opera entry. :)

Re: Easy Duplicate File Finder V2.4.1

According to a scan, the file is clean.

This thread contains discussion about Easy Duplicate Finder and its transition to payware. According to grannyGeek's post, Easy Duplicate Finder 2.4.1 does exist but is nagware.

@rturo's link wasn't malicious, just useless.

7-Zip is available as V9.17 beta :!: I don't understand all these beta releases... I stopped upgrading at v9.15. What's new: - Disk fragmentation problem for ZIP archives created by 7-Zip was fixed. - Notes: 7-Zip now uses 4 MB RAM buffer as file cache, when you create ZIP archives. It reduces the ...

Re: A portable grammar checker

OpenOffice.org 3.3 is almost finished . Very likely it'll be released before the first stable version of LibreOffice. There are two options after the release of OOo 3.3: Oracle keeps the trademarks of OpenOffice.org and continues its development. The developers may or may not continue sending patch...

Re: A portable grammar checker

thought libreoffice was split from openoffice but both would continue :S don't see how libre is different than open from what i've seen so far though Oracle hasn't accepted certain patches of OpenOffice.org because Oracle wants people to actually buy licenses of Oracle Open Office . Re: Pale Moon

Lifehacker gave it a strong review and it looks like its just a recompile of the browser using a C compiler optimized for modern operating systems / processors. I'm a little disappointed they didn't go with a fully GPL'd license like IceCat (http://www.gnu.org/software/gnuzilla/) but I realize that...

@Napiophelios: Please remove kathleenp980's link from your post. Her/his objective was just to get a link from TPFC to that website (so that the website ranks higher in search engines). Links in spam posts should never be quoted. Edit: Thanks Napiophelios. No need to become embarrassed, I wasn't at...

Re: What are the must have portable freewares

ok SYSTEM portable application suites are useful but they contain many mediocre apps and the same problem...how to choose? You have to choose something in the end. No one else can do that for you. :| Starting with an application suite reduces the amount of options a lot. There are nearly 2000 appli...

I have listed the most popular applications below, with an alternative to what I deem as popular/b...

Re: Media Player Classic Home Cinema

Thank you both for testing, especially Ruby. This new version (as did the previous one) runs stealth on my system until I open a DVD folder/file (ifo, vob) which then creates and writes settings to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Gabest\Filters\MPEG Video Decoder Hm. So portability of MPC-HC depends on ...
