VLC 0.9.2.

VLC 0.9.2. Download: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html The look and feel has changed a bit, but it looks like for the better. It apparently supports even more formats, and now gives you the option to download Album Art. I'm still playing with it to see the new feature set, but check ...

Actually a PAF in it of itself is a glorified self extracting ZIP file that places the PortableApps directory structure in the location of your choice. The PA Menu will handle any portable application folder placed in it, but will make all .exe's within that folder visible in the PortableApps menu. ...

This is a really sweet idea! I had problems using it at work though for some reason. I will test it tonight at home to make sure it is a problem with my work environment. If it works at home, I have a feeling my issue has to do with network port configuration, which from what I understand is current...

FYI all you hard corp portabilists... it requires .NET 2.0 That doesn't bother me much since the only places I would even want to use this meet the .NET requirements. I will check it out. Here is the link to the main page the download is located on. It gives some screenshots and a little more of a d...

I run programs like EPIM, KeePass, ToDoList, Open Office, etc. where I save the data file back to my portable drive. Not to mention my portable documents, pics, music, and scripts. Granted not all of the data is changed everyday but enough edits take place that I need to save changes to the drive ev...

To keep my password tools etc safe from overzealous anti virus, I keep them on a write-protected SD memory card. I tried that approach for a while, but I keep too many programs on my flash drive that need to write back to the drive, which I use far more often than my password utilities. By encrypti...

(stupid machines keep eating my Password finding Programs...) MiDoJo, I used to have this problem as well, but what I did to remedy that was I put all my password find utility's into one folder on my Flash Drive and used " Drag'n'Crypt ULTRA " to encrypt all the files in that folder. When...

I don't know where you live or if there is one located near you, but I seem to remember Costco, having the 16GB touch for considerably less that $400. As a matter of fact, I think they had the 32GB for the $400 price tag.

I think it depends on the application, and how I intend to use it. Example: I like my IM client (pidgin) to be as clean as possible, because it is an App I may want to run from a remote computer away from the house. However on the flip side, I use a .NET application similar to UltraMon called Displa...

I second the VirtuaWin suggestion! It is Freeware and I run it daily on at least 3 different PC's and it has yet to Crash on me. Although the memory footprint for VirtuaWin itself is actually quite low, you have to remember that when you switch to a nice clean desktop the applications you have left ...

I think I put my self into the same or similar category as Garbanzo. I love portable apps, and use them mostly on machines that belong to me. I don't use every app that I consider portable on every computer I come across. I use most just on my computers. That being said I look at no-install as most ...
