Re: CLI Database - Beta 2

Is it me or the CLI database is not hiding private entries by default? The full history of why it is can be found here . BTW, while trying to come up with an easy check and control strategy, I got extremely disoriented by the havoc in the CLI database -- e.g., just look at that YORI entry... :o May...

Re: Zim (Desktop Wiki)

Someone sent me an email today telling me the latest version of Zim is fully portable now. I downloaded a copy and gave it a go. Granted some things could be improved for the portable installation (I have listed them in the extraction instructions), but I think there are no major showstoppers here. ...

Phrozen Skype REC 2.0 appears to have gone offline.

I edited the entry to point to Softpedia instead.

Re: Site seems to be lacking/missing/maybe just slow on updates recently?

Are we sure we want to go down this route? Isn't this like trying to commercialize the site? I have serious reservations about this proposal. I do get a lot of spam emails with all kinds of proposals.. running ads, post for $$$ etc. I have mostly ignored them because I am a tech guy who hates dealin...

Re: Site seems to be lacking/missing/maybe just slow on updates recently?

you need to do something to mend fences, the site cant afford to lose people like Billon If there's something specific that you think I should be doing, do let me know. I'd be the first to acknowledge billion's massive contribution to this site, that's why we asked him to be mod. It sucks, because ...

Re: Site seems to be lacking/missing/maybe just slow on updates recently?

I think we need everyone to pitch in for this to be sustainable. Relying on 1 or 2 persons for what is supposed to be information crowdsourcing is not going to work in the long run. If there are some programs that you folks use regularly and are always in touch with updates, it would be much appreci...

Re: Most popular portable software (Softpedia)

Each download click-thru currently counts as a guest upvote.

This is then used to in the computation of the entry's popularity score, which if I remember correctly, is a complex formula that mashes guest and member upvotes with windowing.

Re: Looking for a emailing software.

I'm glad that I got your insights -- that's will definitely help me judge better. Not much insight there. I guess I have done this so much I am just allergic to spam now. "Strike first, ask later" is my motto now, unfortunately. And it's not just spam posts. I get a ton of spam emails on my TPFC em...

Re: PDFArranger (PDF changer utility)

Please ignore the comment at the base of the post -- I'm actually overwriting an old entry that wasn't actually portable (something I think billon would appreciate). webfork PM-ed me about this, and I've removed the old comment. So all's good now. BTW webfork, since you resurrected an old entry, yo...

Added to database: https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=3043 Was looking for something to work with my child's new OEM graphics tablet from Amazon, this was relatively small and simple to start with. Description says Wacom tablet, but seems to work with any Windows compatible tablet. I gues...

Re: PDFArranger (PDF changer utility)

Excellent find, definitely should be added to the database. My findings is the same as webfork. The visual re-ordering feature alone is typically only found in commercialware, or available as a premium feature. The minimal settings in appdata is not an issue for this program (unless you are a stealt...
