Ah. You don't have editing privileges because it requires having at least 50 posts in this forum, or two suggested apps in the database.FileVoyager wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 2:02 am Hey guys,
In the beginning I felt stupid but in fact, I don't see the "Edit this entry" even though I'm logged in.

Re: Fastest method for deleting massive directories in Windows
In my experience, deleting huge directories is plenty fast on Windows even in the most obvious "delete in Explorer" method. Deletion of big files is far slower on Linux for whatever reason.

Re: May you reflect downloads of only 32-bit and 64-bit?
It's actually quite easy to do, just that a default of 10 (to me) makes the front page appear too overwhelming to a casual browser. Anyway, I will leave this here for another day to see if there are any objections. If not, I will make the switch to 10. No objections here. I too think 5 programs by ...

Re: VPN experiences so far (seeking recommendations)
PCWorld - Mozilla listed as "Best for Supporting an Open Internet" ... it's listed as more expensive than Mullvad, the service it's based on, but in fact it's the same if you sign up for 12-months. Mozilla VPN is finally available here and I've signed up for it. As they say, it helps fund...

Re: Cryptocurrency
Fully agreed. Cryptocurrencies don't generate any wealth, they only shift it around. Everyone who has won big and bought multiple houses or whatever with "their" new wealth have done it with money from people like this. They're not a good thing for our society.

There is still a rather large selection of custom Android ROMs. I'm using Evolution X on my phone and have been happy with it.

Re: Firefox - web browser
Safari , in particular, is wildly profitable. The New York Times reported in late 2020 that Google now pays Apple between $8-12 billion per year, up from $1 billion in 2014. Other estimates put the current payments in the $15 billion range. That's outright shocking. Apple is making billions...

Re: Tauri - Electron alternative
Hmm, it uses native webviews on each platform. That allows it to be far more lightweight than Electron, while having a similar programming model.
The idea sounds promising. Let's hope Tauri takes off.
