Re: Yori (advanced CMD replacement)

@midas : Personally, I would appreciate easy-to-follow instructions to make Yori the default system CLI. 1. Press [Windows] + [Pause] to open the "System Properties" dialog. 2. Go to the "Advanced" tab. Push the "Environment Variables" button. 3. In the "System Variables" listbox, search for the "Co...

Re: Stunnel - TLS proxy

Whoopsie ! Sorry about that. I haven't searched the forums for a previous thread. I should have known better. Yes, please : merge. On a side note, according to Stunnel documentation, you must uninstall TLS support under Windows XP first, before switching to Stunnel TLS proxy. I must further dig the ...

Re: XP compatible software

I don't know if this may be relevant to this forum thread, but here is a link to the blog of someone that runs a lot of software (mainly games) under XP that SHOULD NOT RUN on it.
It seems he uses a toolset to temper with the targeted binaries to make'em run under XP...

Re: Jaangle (multimedia manager)

One thing i've just noticed right now : Jaangle portable writes some AVS (visualization plugin for Winamp) config info to the "WIN.INI" file (at least under XP).

Re: Jaangle (multimedia manager)

Awesome Audio/Video player. Highly recommended. Looks like a lot of time and love went into this program. It's cleverly organized and everything fits tightly in a well designed interface. My player of choice for a few years already... Favorite skin : "Orange highlight" by Ben : https://i.ibb.co/ZLRL...

Re: What hardware are you using?

i bought a couple of those off Ebay last year So did i. I owned a "rockboxed" Sansa back in 2015, but it died the same year. I first thought the problem might come from the SD card. After swapping between 3 cards, i realized the problem came from the player itself. Was disappointed because i really...

Re: What hardware are you using?

Another thing i like to have while i'm going on a hike is an MP3 player. The problem with smartphones or Hi-Res players is battery life. I've looked thoroughly for a player that would give me the best autonomy and found one that has 70 hours battery life. It's small, light and has 8Gb onboard flash ...

Re: What hardware are you using?

Sure, i could throw the netbook to the dumpster, buy a Rapsberry Pi 4 and run an emulation distro on top to play retro games. But a mini PC means a new monitor and these cost real money. Plus : you can't play XP games on a Pi. I'm really pleased to run AntiX on this machine : this distro does an ama...
