Re: PropertySystemView
Added to the database, please vote I took a peek at the edits page and noticed this was originally an entry for EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Free, updated a few times between 2017-2018, including by webfork. Any particular reason this entry was completely repurposed (became adware, etc)? Not sure if...

Re: Looks like YouTube limiting downloads
Wouldn't be surprised if the program used the same developer API token for everyone, since I know there are usage limits for such tokens for Google and various other sites. The dev of an imgur uploader I use for example used an API key for the program for all users and at a certain point it reached ...

Re: Pictus, a lightweight image viewer w/ PSD thumbnail support
That's the thing that throws me about WEBP: is it a video that just doesn't have sound or is it an animation like GIF? I know it sounds like splitting hairs, but GIF has individual frames, while video tools are more complex and can't be easily disassembled. It's also one of the reasons I've advocat...

Re: Pictus, a lightweight image viewer w/ PSD thumbnail support
for animation I'd probably just say "animated GIF" as almost every viewer that supports animated also supports static. Looks like billion noticed already and made a tweak which seems fine. Appreciate it! :) That said I'm not sure how I'd write up WEBP as you discuss below... It's either i...

Re: GreenPad
Looks like there's an entry in the database from way back in 2007 that currently is in private status, despite the entry being last updated in 2013. I wonder if it was ever public (received enough votes) or was made private on purpose at some point.

Re: Pictus, a lightweight image viewer w/ PSD thumbnail support
Just on the recent-ish description tweak, my thoughts were that including 'animated GIF' in the supported filetypes was useful for those coming across the program or searching for animated GIF viewers online, as Windows Photo Viewer for example supports GIFs but not animated GIFs (only displays the ...

Hard to say if my noms are relevant seeing as I've only used a few of those. Nevertheless:
- AstroGrep
- ClickMonitorDDC
- Inviska Rename
AstroGrep in particular has been very useful for rapid in-document text search across multiple files.

Re: TPFC Database
I think tproli's linked mockup suits the existing design well, being left-aligned in keeping with the other elements. The headings help it become more readable and the max line width is still preserved as requested.

Re: Portable Freeware Ideas
It is irritating to have go to the internet each time, look up various steps, and perform these manually, over and over again. Isn't this what programming was supposed to be for in the first place? Have you seen if scripting can achieve what you're after? As repetitive and multi-step tasks are what...

Re: Thoughts on the future of RSS/feeds and keeping track of program release news
Well its pretty much everything... Slickdeals and discount trackers so I don't miss a good price on anything i'm interested in buying. This reminded me to mention that feeds for eBay/classifieds are incredibly useful for those wanting to find hard-to-find items, not just for necessarily good prices...

Thoughts on the future of RSS/feeds and keeping track of program release news
Not sure how others have managed to keep track of software news but I'd imagine feeds (RSS/Atom) are a key part of it for some. I know when I was using Firefox (pre-Quantum version) the feed reader I had set up was a useful part of how I kept track of many things, including some software both for bu...
