Re: SolveSpace
This is by far the best freeware CAD program I've ever seen. I've got absolutely no use for it whatsoever, but darnit it's both easy AND fun to use.

Re: Hardlinks, symbolic links and junctions
fsutil hardlink create c:\foo.txt c:\bar.txt Where foo.txt is the hardlink and bar.txt the file to be linked to. Try it, I'm not sure if it will work across different partitions though. Junctions only work with directories and afaik symlinks are only available from Vista and up. Alternately, maybe ...

Re: Why can't I format in NTFS?
Somewhat offtopic: Also it's important to know that disk freespace wiping software often fails to fully wipe FAT32 because it's difficult to program for that in FAT32. No it isn't. It's easier 'to program for' than NTFS or journaled file systems. And if it's a slaved disk, the OS can still create sh...

Re: Do you speak Batch?
isn't it that the correct way to find it is to use registry? Yes, absolutely right. I rarely use it, so I forgot about that one. If I really had to do it in batch, I would use 'for' to iterate over files. Or maybe I would quit. Yea, but FOR alone works only on files or folders, not both and that's ...

Re: Do you speak Batch?
Correct the swapping task is possible, but detecting whether if it's a file or folder is not, this is the work of a programming language. Not entirely true, You could use the output of DIR to find out if it's a file or directory. However, that would require some advanced magic and it's indeed bette...

Go to Rob van der Woude's little FAQ and take a look at runNhide.vbs.Firewrath wrote:I cant get it to pass other arguments after the 'test.bat' though, but I'm sure anyone with vbs knowledge can fix that or such.

Re: Obama Signs Martial Law Bill: NDAA Now Law
In general, many people dismiss Alex Jones as a harmless kook. I sure hope he is, because if he is legit, the game is over...and most Americans won't even know what hit them. I don't know what his views are exactly, but 99% can be dismissed as total fantasy. 'Loose Change', which he produced, is a ...

2012 started well
I was going through my HDD's scrubbing redundant stuff (new year's cleanup) when I found an old 120 Gb one with everything from Mystery Science Theater 3000 on it. I had totally forgotten I still had it.
Needless to say... It's movie time!

Politicians simply don't listen or care anyway, being the only group who managed to 'legalize' their own criminal activities.
Yea, this is going back to medieval times. I bet they're already building dungeons too, seeing that all prisons are already overcrowded.

Re: DropIt
Now I understand what you're talking about. I think writing a parser for a PO file would be possible, but performance might be reduced when using AutoIt, so for now an INI file structure seems like a good choice that you've made. Yea, I figured the same thing. I wrote parsers before and although do...

Re: DropIt
Basically what does the UDF do? Don't forgot to take variable scope into consideration when creating a good UDF and also make sure you include error checking (SetError) too. Well, I wanted something gettext-like like this: _BindTextDomain('package', 'nl') ; load language files for this app. _('tran...

Re: DropIt
Seems to me that DropIt has become something of a pet project of the entire TPFC community. Awesome! Started playing around with this a week ago and well, I don't understand how I ever got around without it. It's already playing a central role in my daily computer work. A brilliant and simple concep...

Re: Updates for the 24th December
Some updates have really been a blast from the past e.g. TweakUI. I think this is a sign that I should really go through my Portable applications and delete the ones I don't use. Lol, you too? When I switched from XP to Win 7 I just copied my portable directory, but never checked for compatibility ...
