Re: Orca Browser

Thanks for the post, Emka, but a few reasons why I would avoid it: 1. Last release was almost a year ago, which may expose it to security problems that have since been fixed in other Gecko-based browsers such as Firefox and Camino. 2. A non-open license despite an open code base (which I'm not sure ...

Also webfork - the uplaods keep getting deleted, so if your offer of: I think Spicydog is suggesting you setup a home page for it. Re: U3 Down

http://u3-tool.sourceforge.net/ I just tested this program on a removable device and it worked great. The program warns against running on a drive with actual data on it but it didn't delete mine. Your experience may vary so backing up as the program suggests is a Good Idea. The program is command-...

Re: *WikidPad V1.9

Tested and definitely portable, though not stealth. Creates C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temp\comtypes_cache\WikidPad-26

I loathe that it uses CamelCase tho. I hope the authors switch to or somehow enable MediaWiki format.

Re: Various tests: Logviewer Pro, Spider Player, and QueVue

One more test: Paint.Net 2 Go I misread the article and thought it said .NET libraries were included. I ran some quick tests on it and it still requires .NET v2. Shame. Nifty all the same: a quick-and-dirty test with ProcessActivityView and RegFromApp does seem to indicate its that its portable.

Just a question: how many PeStudio updates have there been over the last few weeks? I feel like I'm seeing one very few days, but that might be my imagination.

Re: What about this NirSoft programs?

I will agree that the AdapterWatch is conspicuously absent from the database. When diagnosing a network connection, more information is always better. Also the PingInfoView has some real advantages for monitoring computers and network latency and the OutlookStatView is essentially a very simple and ...

In fact the opposite. Many programs here are produced in AHK, which is itself portable.

With the recent discovery that OpenOffice might be changing it's name to LibreOffice permanently, AbiWord might become a top favourite in the word processing wars. Re: Forum Spam List Checker

Excellent addition, maybe this is a program for the Forum Mods to test! I don't have access to spammer IP addresses here on PFW so I don't really have a way to effectively test this. I did find a bug under WinXP SP3 1. Used garbage data (123.123.123.123, name: test, email: test@test.com) 2. Clicked...

Oh! Well, yes.

I mostly posted that as I was digging through old forums looking for spam and wanted anyone who responded to that thread to use the "official" one. I didn't notice it was earlier than yours.
