Re: First post of topic auto locked after 7 days
Would it be possible to archive an initial post when it's being edited? That way Vevy could still edit the posts but an archive would be available in the event of a problem?

Re: Internet Archive lawsuit
Damn that is just screwed up thinking from those publishers. Greed plan and simple in my opinion. Sad thing is it's not a surprise with the corporate mentality these days.

Re: VPN experiences so far (seeking recommendations)
With the privacy laws in the U.S. under fire such as the new bill in regard to encrypted devices requiring back doors for law enforcement would it make sense to look for a VPN out of Europe? I recall a few users on this site and others mentioning that the EU has better privacy laws regarding their c...

Re: LibreOffice plans for paid for editions?
I was just reading some comments on this over at the Distrowatch site --> https://distrowatch.com/weekly.php?issue=20200720#comments One of the commenters mentioned that article at theregister as well. I have moved a lot of people over to using LO over the years and OpenOffice before that. I've seen...

Re: Angband
Also, I tried an older version or another variant just before I stopped playing that used the ASCII characters like I remember from a LONG time ago and I just couldn't do it. It had my eyes bugging out and killing me after maybe 20 minutes or so.

Re: Angband
I'm not crazy I swear. Well I am... hehehehe..... I was a bit nervous there. I haven't played 4.2.0 for several months and was thinking of starting a new character and checked the site just in case a new version came out. After getting killed a bunch of times between levels 10-15 because a level 20...

Re: Angband
Still saving the .ini file to the program directory and the save data to the angband/lib/user/save directory for me and I don't see anything in the AppData/Roaming folder unless I missed something.

Re: VidMasta (JRE online video manager)
I tried making a batch file with the -Duser.home=. setting and it still puts the VidMasta directory in appdata/Roaming. I was thinking about trying to start it using the vidmasta.jar file but I'm thinking that may cause issues. Wish I knew more about the programming side to see if I could check that...

Re: Windows 9 is... Windows 10
Nice, that real time view of the graph changing as the input is changed is cool. I stopped doing the Insider Preview some time ago but hope that stays in the final build. The last few systems I upgraded to Windows 10, I just did a clean install and used the Windows 7 Product Key or clicked on the op...

Re: Ventoy - Multiboot Usb Creator
That workaround is similar to the one I use with Yumi when working with UBCD. The integrated PartedMagic doesn't work so you have to copy certain files to the root of the drive. After several versions, I started removing PartedMagic from the UBCD ISO and then installing the newest free and/or curren...

Re: Would an unofficial IRC channel for TPFC be OK?
The gaming server I've been helping with added a Discord server a while back and that has worked out great. You can create multiple channels of text and/or voice and the voice channels have even recently added video/screen sharing features. There is also private messaging available. I saw a post a w...
