This looks like a nice program and a good addition here. To ashghost's comment, VirtualWin does have the ability to have a taskbar pager or a free floating skinnable pager by use of plugins. I have used both and settled on the iconized plugin with the plain skin as it is most like the AltDesk sharew...

I think that it's too subjective based upon what a person wants out of their progies I have to agree. A simple example; if you use several OS's, the ability to have the same GUI and data file structure on all the OS's may be very important to you, affecting your choices. Someone else may be a singl...

Re: updates.

when you click associate default browser, you are telling the copied version of firefox.exe to associate itself, and not the launcher. Why are you telling the OS to use a portable version as the Default? This defeats the point behind using a portable application in the first place. So, if you use a...

But I want to encourage people to take this project off me, so I want lnker to have minimal functionality. I've posted a link to this thread to the PortableApps forums where there are a number of people actively doing development. Maybe one of them will pick this up. If I see any activity on it ove...

Re: Portable .lnk files

Motivated by a recent Lifehacker article at the topic, I decided to do something about ubiquitous misinformation that .lnk files aren't (and can't be) portable. Really, they usually aren't, but CAN be. I wrote a quick and dirty program, that generates portable .lnks. Get it . ADDED: It seems that m...

This Israeli piss-ant is might living less than only 2 hours from me (whole Israel, driving is only 6 or 8 hours maximum) It is true, no need to be paranoid, but when I see, sometimes (eg. on del.icio.us), 20 Israelis of 100 - 120 who bookmarked some illegal sites, which are (eg.) presenting howto ...

I especially like the iconized plugin. It provides almost identical functionality to AltDesk (shareware) and the Linux pagers. I've been using it about a year on my Windows boxes.

mohsin, What OS are you looking for? Programs that run on WINCE don't usually run on PalmOS. There are even differences between PalmOS 4 (and earlier) and PalmOS 5. There are even Linux PDA's out there. If you aren't sure what I mean by OS, can you give the make and model of PDA you are looking for?

Just an addon to usdcs's great response (THANKS for the formula - a new way to do a repetitive task!). If you use OOo, the cell formula for the 'finding the first space', the formula would be: =FIND(" "; A1; 1) And you need to adjust the other formulas to reference the position returned in...

i love the layout of this. nice features too. but the 'stack' isn't very usable. too bad it's not RPN. ~sigh~ Sometimes, it takes a while for some potentially qualified apps to make it on the list. An RPN calculator, Free42 (no emulator, no ROM images), which I submitted (and you discussed) is stil...
