Re: Windows 8 Latest News

GNU/Linux would have been a better choice long-term. Windows 7 will die eventually. the support will die eventually.. but the OS will remain good for quite a while.. look at XP.. i truly thought about Ubuntu.. and i even tried to install it.. i couldn't figure it out! i got stuck on the "Termi...

Re: Primo (PRogram Installation MOnitor, a Regshot fork)

Code: Select all

You can email me at bitron@islandnet.com if you have any problems

Re: Clarifiying Stealth: Yes, No, and a 3rd option

IMO,

there should only be "Yes" or "No".
it's as simple as that.

What separates this site from others, is "Stealth".

there are tons of freeware collection sites.. but i keep coming here because of "Stealth".

if you're going to post, you must do the work!

Re: This site is DANGEROUS!!!

this is why i find Norton, McAfee and other AntiVirus Companies bogus.

instead of worrying about viruses, they have now gotten into the business of copyright.

i use many products that are 100% clean, but AntiViruses say otherwise.

Noobs may fall for it.. but only drive away experienced customers.

Re: ESET 3 Months License Giveaway

i would assume it will stop updating.. im not sure.. i have never let it run down to expiration.. if you're not a fan of ESET and or determined to keep finding freebies.. it might not be a good choice.. im faithful to ESET 5.. and refuse to update.. ESET 6 is too heavy.. ESET 5 is so light i barely ...

Re: Portable Tinywall?

A wonderful tinywall and really small. Is it possible to make it portable? http://tinywall.pados.hu/ Firewalls are deeply integrated into the OS. Not a good idea.. - TinyWall requires .Net Framework - installs a service - installs startup entries - runs in the background https://s22.postimg.cc/el3m...

Re: Opera useful (java)scripts and other tips&tricks

And you're sure it (captcha) works if you uncheck User JavaScript? I don't think this is the cause...maybe an extension... I have these exact same settings and few scripts in my folder and I have no problems with captcha or upload systems. you know what.. it was a script that was in my js folder!!!...

Re: Opera useful (java)scripts and other tips&tricks

As guinness suggested (Thanks!), I'll write here how you can install and use scripts with Opera browser (I'm assuming you use this browser in a portable way , 'cause ... you're here, aren't you? :) ): 1. go to your Opera directory; 2. enter your profile directory "Opera\profile"; 3. creat...

Re: Opera useful (java)scripts and other tips&tricks

This Ghacks post led me to find an "Opera's NoScript alternative" called NotScripts . @ guinness i find it simpler to right-click a page > Edit Site Preferences > Scripting > and simply uncheck scripts. i try to avoid installing unnecessary/redundant stuff.. @ joby_toss thanks for the tut...

Re: Alternatives to Google search

I have Opera set so nothing is saved.. not even cookies, use CCleaner before every reboot, constantly change my IP via TMAC, use OperaTor, HostsMan, etc. If after all those precautions and Google is still able to pin-point who i am .. good for them. i just don't see how my 'search terms' can be use...
