Re: Mumble - VoIP client/server combo

Update: Version 1.3.4 is out

Changelog: https://www.mumble.info/blog/mumble-1.3 ... ouncement/

I'm seeing as a much lower data overhead alternative to Discord's voice chat, which also boasts excellent audio quality but comes in at 630 megs (my current install's size).

Re: Doro PDF (virtual printer)

To specify a different ' Doro.ini ' or settings registry location, create " DoroSettingsIni [default: full path to Doro.ini] " or " DoroSettingsRegistry [default: Software\CompSoft\Doro] " inside this registry locations. Good catch, thanks for that. Because of the printer function, I'm not sure thi...

Re: Elephant (Evernote/OneNote alternative)

Old thread update : appears to be discontinued, with the final update listed as last year on Softpedia: https://www.softpedia.com/get/Office-tools/Diary-Organizers-Calendar/Elephant.shtml Ghacks did an article on it around the same time: https://www.ghacks.net/2020/03/13/elephant-is-an-open-source-...

Re: Doro PDF (virtual printer)

Update: still not portable (the FAQ even lists the settings locations): - Doro.ini in the users local app data folder: C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Local\Doro\ - Doro.ini in the install directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\DoroPDFWriter\ (See this file for all possible options) - In the registry at HKC...

Re: Picture Viewers for Very Large Graphic Files

This is fantastic -reminds me of tp109's tests a few years back, and very much in line with the sort of thing I was hoping would come out of the testing resources idea. I put the data above in table format (this is exactly the same as what juverax posted above) with the http://www.ecardmax.com/hoted...

Think you missed the URL ...
https://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE- ... pher.shtml

Homepage: http://ultracipher.de/ (not much here)

License: Apache (open source)

Probably needs jPortable and the Jar Launcher to run portably.

Explz - archive manager

Another compression tool with some nice additional features. From the translation: Explzh is more than 4GB LHA, ZIP (X), CAB, RAR, 7Z, Tar, Tar Tasu (Gz / bz2 / Xz / Lzma / Zstd), corresponding to the compression and decompression of Zstandard format archive, is a compression and decompression softw...

OpenRPA - system automation (req login)

Open RPA is "Open Source Robotic Process Automation Software" Looks really interesting for basic automation but I didn't get very far with this, as it requires a login. It seems willing to work with your Office 365 or Google accounts but that's not something I want to get into. Posting to discussion...

Deskreen - screen share / extention

Synopsis : An open and easier way to mirror (and extend with an adapter) your desktop on other devices, including phones and tablets. Background : I was looking for something similar to the excellent (payware) Duet program, which can be done with additional steps (see website). As it stands, this p...

Deep Diff - text file and directory comparison

Short Version : Unless you need small size and light resource usage, go with WinMerge: https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=1259 Background : Due to my ongoing search for good diff tools where ever they might live, I looked at an interesting diff tool from a few years back that I likely wo...

Re: rhiimoot 4 Spotify

I'd normally have responded to this thread by now, but I'm not a Spotify user and wasn't planning on signing up. It's one of the issues with submissions tied to a specific service like the DI Radio player: https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2661 ... Hopefully someone else will be able to ...

Re: Pointofix - [Screen Capture Annotator]

With the caveat that there haven't been updates to this program since 2018, I came back to it because a live screen annotator is still an appealing prospect. Steps 1. Download and extract the "one without setup" version: " pointofix180de-20180511-direkt.zip " 2. Download the language pack and extrac...

if You run OnionShare as CLI, the program should be Stealth.
Very impressive -- I didn't see anything about the CLI options. Great find.
