Re: ResophNotes - note taking

Try AlephNote. Or QOwnNotes. Both excellent imo.

Re: Veneta Viewer

@riciery8910 I noticed Veneta supports IFF files. I tried it with a Maya sequence and it bombed out with an error. Had no problems opening the same sequence with XnViewMP and DJVImaging . I can make a ticket/issue or give further details if you need it. Otherwise very nice viewer :) https://i.imgur...

Re: StaxRip - comprehensive video encoder

I tried it yesterday and the first thing it did was ask me to install AviSynth... Just to convert MKV to MP4. Pity because it has everything and the kitchen sink. Oh well, at least it made its TPFC debut.

StaxRip - comprehensive video encoder

On Github ReadTheDocs - take a look at screenshots StaxRip is a video encoding app for Windows with a unrivaled feature set and usability. I was looking for alternative encoder programs and StaxRip popped up. I can find no mention of it here on TPFC... Size unpacked: ~400Mb :!: Settings: to applica...

Great news! Looks like a capable video editor. I wonder if John will consider PAF'ing it when the issues are ironed out?

Why the doom and gloom? Looks interesting to me. Might give it a try at some point.

@HairyPorter

Thank you for making these suggestions, and so clearly too. I think it's something a lot of people (myself included) may have at some point been annoyed by, however I for one never thought of making a post about it. Thanks again :)

Edit: just a note that URL parsing doesn't work with HTTPS TPFC forum addresses. Had to remove the "s" to get it parsed.

Welcome to TPFC and happy festive season :)

Thanks for the detailed write-up and entry. Joby says your program is portable so I voted as well.

Portable DICOM viewers?

DICOM in the medical sense - the files you typically get on a CD/DVD for X-Rays, CT scans or MRIs. They normally come with proprietary viewing software of their own, however I would prefer copying the files to my ext HDD and viewing it with a more current (and full-featured) freeware/FOSS program. ...
