Re: Winyl

I remember stumbling across this app years ago. Didn't see anything at the time to confirm it was portable though. Looks like a neat little audio player.

Opera Presto RIP

I think they mentioned they would only be releasing such fixes since the old team moved on following the change to Blink.

Re: SmartFFmpeg

It's actually a neat little front-end. Couldn't find a way to get 2-pass encoding working, but for everything else it's lean and does the job, with command-line parameters either being set via the UI or entered in the input box.

Re: IntelBurnTest - CPU benchmarking utility

Little bump. Hoping this can be voted up to become visible as it's a useful app for testing CPU temps and stability. AFAIK it doesn't store settings to file or registry.

Re: Is it possible to create a torrent without hashes?

I think hashes are essential for safety in any community that shares files amongst themselves. This. No idea about the hashing process in torrent clients per se, but being able to compare hashes of files is essential for security purposes. Without them anyone could modify an original file for downl...

IntelBurnTest - CPU benchmarking utility

IntelBurnTest is a tool that allows the user to benchmark their CPU by stress testing. Typically used by overclockers and general computer enthusiasts to see how well the cooling is in their case, used in conjunction with a temperature monitoring app such as HWiNFO. The user can also set how many ti...

Re: MacType

Love this app. With a custom profile I finally got away from the rather rigid Windows hinting. Having been on OSX for a while I grew to appreciate the more accurate rendering.

Re: HexChat - Open source, multi-platform IRC client

Nice find. 8) If you meant TPFC is lacking IRC clients in general, check http://www.portablefreeware.com/?sc=75 (and possibly http://www.portablefreeware.com/?sc=74 , too)... Yea, there's a cross-over with most IM clients. Actually I was just surprised as I'd heard HexChat mentioned many times in s...

HexChat - Open source, multi-platform IRC client

Thought I'd share this here, as I was surprised when nothing came up in a search. It's an open source IRC client for Windows and Linux, with experimental OSX support. HexChat is an IRC client based on XChat, but unlike XChat it’s completely free for both Windows and Unix-like systems. Since XChat is...

Re: Sublime Text

Sublime Text is a pretty awesome application. Started using it in 2012 and it really impressed me with the unique multi-cursors, well thought-out default keybindings, UI, reconfigurability, and packages for almost useful purpose. Found this great series of Sublime Text 2 interface guides which cover...
