Re: Freetube - bypass YouTube age restrictions
Some people -- myself included -- would like to be aware that Freetube is Electron -based, so unsurprisingly not really portable... Downgraded Electron version from 14.0 to 13.5.1 @ github.com/FreeTubeApp/FreeTube/discussions/1835 so the designer won't be able to fix the portability issue? i still ...

FreeTube is a YouTube client for Windows, Mac, and Linux built around using YouTube more privately. You can enjoy your...

Re: LibreWolf browser - privacy and security based fork of Firefox
A fork of Firefox, focused on privacy, security and freedom. I don't think I'd throw this one into the category of fork, more like a tweak. It's an important distinction because Since all future versions of LibreWolf are going to be dependent on the current Firefox code base, I'd probably class thi...

Re: Telegram - cross platform, secure chat
I'll admit, I'm kind of torn on this subject after the events of the last week. I wholeheartedly agree that a secure and private platform is needed to protect freedoms around the world really, but with people using these platforms to setup/plan insurrection and/or violent actions .... yeah that ins...

Re: Classic Browser (Chromium based)
If anyone can confirm this findings, I'll move the topic to " Not Portable ". What makes software “portable” has nothing to do with the Windows registry and everything to do with them not requiring a formal Windows installation process to either C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86) ...

Re: Video Duplicate Finder
What res vids did you have? I had a couple of movies at 720p vs 1080p, and they were flagged as dups (the 720p were actually down-converted from 1080p using Handbrake, and I forgot to delete them). that's what i was using 720 vs 1080 - same video length and otherwise identical i'll do some more tes...

Re: Video Duplicate Finder
The entire video needs to more or less match, irrespective of resolution and codec. I was hoping it might be able to spot a shorter clip within a longer video, but after some testing, I can confirm it doesn't do that. It would be real cool if it could though! hopefully they can add that ability in ...

Re: Delta Chat desktop (IMAP based IM)
GMX Mail is free and allows IMAP fwiw - also it didnt require an actual legit phone number when i signed up - afaik most of the big names in free email with IMAP do require some kind of phone number to send a text for verification
