Re: Photoflare (Qt-based image editor)

Still in development with some updates just a few days ago:
https://photoflare.io/photoflare-v1-6-9-released/

Smaragdus opened a case about this a few years back about portability, so it may be time for a retest: https://github.com/PhotoFlare/photoflare/issues/172

Re: ImageGlass - basic viewer / editor

Update: v.8.2.6.6 is out with lots of changes. It does support AVIF and a lot of other newer formats.

I was a little disappointed it didn't have more of a directory nav/search feature, but if it's your default viewer, that probably wouldn't bother you.

Process Hacker can also suspend processes, with "suspend" and "resume" options in the context menu.
Good call. I'd forgotten about Process Hacker. Clearly that's the way to go on this.

Compare Suite Lite - text comparison

Synopsis : A liteware compare tool with some promising features and capabilities. I wasn't expecting this one to actually be portable, but a good comparison tool can save you hours of extra work or confusion, so always worth a shot. From the very beginning it was not designed as another tool for so...

Nyrna - suspend applications

I can’t recommend this program unfortunately as it didn’t seem functional on my system. I pause Firefox and then the program kind of froze. Restarting doesn’t seem to do anything, it just sits there. Had to “End Task” both the program and Firefox. Background I've been looking for a program like this...

Re: Seymour - photo viewer/organizer

Update: now at version 0.9.50 (updated 2020-07-24)

Still lots of good rename/tagging/categories features I don't think I've seen anywhere else. Note that it's distributed as a RAR file.

Re: MultiDesk - remote desktop client

I've been doing a lot with RDP so I was very interested in this program. Looks like a new version just came out with better scaling and recording. Will hopefully look into that in the days ahead.

I can't seem to find anything on that as it doesn't appear their support forum is in English.

Re: What OSS licenses are people actually using?

This site mostly looks at library repositories, and permissive licenses dominate there because an (L)GPL licensed library would be significantly harder to utilize in commercial software. In end user software (i.e. regular programs), (L)GPL is more popular than in libraries. Thanks for the clarifica...
