some interesting facts in english: http://www.weezo.net/content/view/18/36/lang,en/ Thanks...I guess this is what I was looking for... "Weezo is a "cleanware" : the installation process copies all the needed files in a single directory. No dll is registered with Windows, no modificat...

I haven't tried the software yet, but my question would be real portability. Of course the client side is, because it's web browser-based...but the website lists seven plugins for the server. Are these portable? If not, can you use normal portable server programs (like XAMPP)? However, I don't know ...

I know Divx is not free, and I don't think Xvid supports that feature. Are you talking about a specific DivX editing application, or the DivX Ultra you mentioned (with which I'm not familiar)? Because the DivX codec is free, as well as tons of converter/encoder programs found on the internet... (Ed...

Nice player. I judge players like this mainly for their ability to play internet radio streams, as I'm unlikely to carry large amounts of music on a portable thumb drive. In this case, I was slightly disappointed by what the site advertised and what the player could actually do. Using ver. 2.203 of ...

Re: VideoLAN & about:plugins

So what in the hell I did so that VLC is now able to play all known formats which Firefox always gave me this notification message that I need M$ Media Plug-in in order to play the media file like .wma .wmv etc. (directly from browser) :?: :?: :?: Guess this is your question...from your picture, it...

Correction: didn't check out all the features well enough. Right-clicking file gives you the option to see video information easily and you can choose to "default" all information to the source video, leaving you with just having to choose whether you want your output file to be mp3, wav, ...

This worked better for me than AoA audio extractor, which crashes if you try to use it on a .mkv file or a flash file with no video. This extracted the audio from both types with no problems. I just wish these audio extractor programs did just what they say...extract the source audio without the nee...

Is this really portable? It looks like all someone did is use "universal extractor" on the freely downloadable install programs, without any clean-up of unnecessary files...I don't see any special launchers...

TreeDBNotes 3.3

TreeDBNotes Free is now at version 3.3. It is no longer compatible with 1.0's version of .tdb files, and I question its portability. Anyhow, the old method of installation is no longer applicable to the new version. Edit: The application does allow you to import old database files from previous vers...

It stores all of its settings in the registry "HKCU\Software\Andrew Zhezherun\WinDjView\". That makes it non-stealth but not necessarily non-portable (settings aren't portable). Thanks for the find, I've been looking for something like this for a while and will be adding it to my USB drive.

It's not a diary program per se, but TreeDBNotes is a very versatile note-taking program. You can date- and time-stamp entries (somewhat manually), enter more than just text data (hyperlinks, tables, pictures), and can compact and password-protect your databases. To me, it's easier to use than Tiddl...
