Re: DSpeech

The project has had excellent quality over the years, though I admit 6 is a little high for the false-positive category. It's down to 2. This publisher's apps often have higher false positives when first updated which then go down over a week or so. Edit: Make that 3. One of the other engines was d...

It bundles the .NET 5 runtimes in addition to the app itself and plugins.

Re: Google Chrome blocks PortableApps

We have implemented a change that appears to be allowing downloads via Google Chrome despite the false positive in Google Safe Browsing due to a false positive on a single file. Apologies for the inconvenience. And please let us know in the thread if you notice any ongoing issues. https://portableap...

Re: Firefox - web browser

John, can you also make sure to update the ThunderbirdPortableU.nsi file on Github? The version on Github is v2.3, whereas the current release version on portableapps.com is at v2.7. Thanks in advance. Updated. I should split those out to a separate project from the app configs so they're easier to...

Re: Firefox - web browser

Since I have you here John, how do I build the main FirefoxPortable.exe launcher file from source? Oftentimes when I want to update just that executable, I have to download and extract the entire Firefox Portable package just to get the small, <200kb FirefoxPortable.exe file. The source code is wit...

Been debating switching the PA.c package of it to nightly, but it'll sometimes be updated 3 times in a day.

Re: Firefox - web browser

I already do this. I have a copy of policies.json ready to be pasted into the main Firefox folder's /distribution/policies.json location whenever I update Firefox Portable. The Firefox Portable installer is configured to preserve the distribution directories in both App\Firefox and App\Firefox64. I...

How about a cloud virtual machine? I know Microsoft Azure started offering them in preview last month. Not sure if they're generally available yet.
