Andrew It ran using PortableSmartFTP.exe, and RegShot recorded no entries. Additionally, PortableSmartFTP created a rather large (172k) Registration Entires file in its root folder. Settings were preserved between two different machines. However, on a third I couldn't get it to launch - not even the...

Steps I used: * Download SFTPNSI.exe, and use UniExtract on it * Use UniExtract on the SmartFTP.exe installer within the extracted SFTPMSI folder * Delete the SmartFTP Win...

Gnumeric Portable
AlephX Gnumeric has impressive statistical features, some unmatched by any other spreadsheet, but was also taken back by its Yetiness. Discovered abundant language localization modules living here: App/Gnumeric/share/locale/* Kept only the two en* modules, which shrunk it down to 30MB. Still somewha...

Portable Bookmarks
HareHippie
Regshot shows 10 keys created and 21 values added after running 'Portable' Bookmarks. These appear trivial, but it there's certainly an equivocation on the term "portable" here. Am rather puzzled that it doesn't save its settings to its root directory...

Re: I want to lock my portable hard drive
Hi bulawil! However, I've ran Sandra benchmarks on both, and FreeOTFE is dramatically faster than TrueCr...

UPX: the Ultimate Packer for eXecutables
Hi All! UPX can *significantly* reduce the size of both executables and dlls, allowing more programs to be 'packed' onto a USB drive. No additional software is required for the executables or dlls to work. A side benefit can be a faster loading program. UPX itself is a command line utility that live...
