ah you are right I though vlc supported real natively.... well mplayer should with binary codecs installed if it doesn't already...

vlc or mplayer should work (if you need a gui for mpalyer try smplayer or mpui)

well if right clicking on files in your media library and then choosing convert option and then choosing the right format and hitting pressing enter is to hard of a process to do then I really can't argue with you lol....
