Re: Windows store app wanted for quick note taking
Yeah, rather low spec, already more than two years old, small screen. Therefore my looking for something light with an uncluttered interface. So far, Simple Markdown Editor that lintalist posted about above seems promising. But I haven't had the time to test it yet.

Re: Windows store app wanted for quick note taking
Thanks, I'm going to look for something like that. The thing is that I need an app from Microsoft Store for my work Surface. I've seen a few interesting editors and notepads in the store, I just have to find the time to try them out.

Re: Windows store app wanted for quick note taking
AlephNote and especially QOwnNotes might not be light and straightforward enough, I just want to fire up the app and jot sth. down. I would have to take a look into those markdown editors because i'm quite inexperienced with that. However, your suggestions are a welcome start for further investigati...

Windows store app wanted for quick note taking
Me again looking for a specific note taking app... This time my requirements are as follows: In a professional context, I'm often in the position of needing to quickly jot down a few notes during conversations or meetings, which I project via a projector for all participants to see. I do this with a...

Re: Need simple portable drag and drop list program
ToDoList (https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=816) seems to support drag and drop, but I haven't tested that. Maybe TaskCoach (https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2113) can drag and drop, too. Both apps might be a little too heavy for what you need. I know the problem of looking ...

@juverax & FileHandler: write me if you need mails or anything translated from or to German. The correct translation for application in the aforementioned mail would be Anwendung (or simply Programm); for message it might be more accurate to use Benachrichtigung in this context (but here I'm not...

Re: Uninstalr - Batch uninstall software in Windows
Thanks for presenting this app here. Although I mostly use portable software, from time to time an uninstaller is necessary to get rid of non-portable software I wanted to test or needed for work, or to kill junkware that came with the machine. I did not really have the chance to test uninstallation...

Strange display of recent activity
It's been like this for a few days already:

Re: Looking for a simple way to sync notes between devices
Quillnote looks interesting, I might try it if it turns out I'm not happy with ProtectedText.com. It now seemed the easiest way to set up shared notes on my phone, my work laptop, my home desktop and my wife's work laptop. This way I can circumvent potential restrictions of S mode and the lack of ad...

Re: Looking for a simple way to sync notes between devices
Thanks for the idea! Since ProtectedText uses passwords, this again required another step in the workflow on Android even with the homescreen shortcut. I was then trying out https://nute.app , which works basically the same but without password, so it should be accessible more readily via the homesc...

Re: Looking for a simple way to sync notes between devices
I tried ProtectedText.com, and it could be a good alternative. However the Android app lacks a homescreen widget, which I need to access and edit a note in just one action. First starting the app and then selecting a note to edit is one step more than I want. As for Simpletask, Markor or other apps ...

Re: Looking for a simple way to sync notes between devices
Yeah, I use OneNote on my Surface Go for longer and more structured work-related notes, the Android App can sync with MS Sticky Notes, but you need too many steps to access that feature and jot down sth on Android. I have already come across the todo.txt principle, but had difficulties finding an ea...

Re: Looking for a simple way to sync notes between devices
The freer the better, in general. That's why I wasn't initially thinking about Google Keep. I went with sth that syncs with MS Sticky Notes because it is installed anyway and software choice is limited on my Surface Go 2 in S mode. I know I could go for MS To do, but then again it might not be as pl...
