Thanks for the reply. Can I ask how installing LineageOS would help? More apps and whatnot I'm guessing?freakazoid wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 2:18 pm I'd try and get a device supported by LineageOS if possible. It looks like nVidia Shield TV devices are supported from 2015 and on.

Everyone, drop the freeware you use daily down below!
I tried looking and couldn't actually find a thread like this where everyone posts their favorite freeware that they use daily (portable or otherwise), so I'll start one myself. I'll start - LosslessCut (lossless video trimming tool) - Free Download Manager (portable download manager) - Flameshot (c...

Re: LeoMoon HotKeyz
I feel ridiculous I didn't mess with this sooner. I think I got put off because I don't have a numpad on my primary machine. But the window organization function with the CTRL+ALT+Numpad is fantastic: For example, I did this to my desktop in seconds: https://i.imgur.com/q3Dhn49.png If that's the ON...

Re: [TECH] Need a second opinion on what to get
That's actually a fair point that I hadn't previously considered, so thanks for pointing it out. I suppose that makes another reason not to get the cube, given how it's supposed to be always listening. Jailbreak sounds interesting though - definitely something I'd try out eventually if I got the Sti...

[TECH] Need a second opinion on what to get
Okay, this isn't really related to Portable Freeware (hence the chit-chat sub-forum) but if there's one thing I've noticed, it's that the community is really helpful, so maybe you could help me out with an off-topic question I've been pondering. I've been on the fence for a while about whether to bu...

Re: Simplified List of ALL Portable Apps hosted here?
Tip Nirsoft's CSVFileView is your best friend when it comes to view/manipulate *.csv, sorted whichever way you fancy Might as well take a gander here for some elaboration over CSVFileView merits (or shortcomings)... I've recently undertaken a programming project involving the use of CSV file...

Re: BatchEncoder
Just discovered this - super useful! I've always had to rely on online tools for this sort of stuff but an application is so much more usable, specially if it's portable!

Now that looks extremely useful. I currently just use the built-in Windows key shortcut for screenshots, but this is just so much more functional.

Right yeah, makes sense. I guess I just find the idea of making a program portable pretty interesting. I'd love to hear more viable ways to go about doing that sometime.

Using 7-Zip to make some programs portable?
Hi! While looking more into portable software the other day, I came across this guide for converting an install-only application to a portable application by simply extracting the contents of the setup file and running it as if it was installed. And it didn't quite rub me the right way because that ...

Oh, this is super cool. I'm sending it to my younger cousin who's just started learning basic programming. Seeing C code being generated out of the flowcharts he makes is going to help so much.

Great guide! As someone new to the world of freeware, I definitely did not know about VirusTotal. That's super useful!
