Re: Search overloaded?

Referring to PortableFreeware on DuckDuckGo: !pfw

I'm not sure, but I doubt it: the "!pfw" search in DuckDuckGo just directs to the search of TPFC catalogue and not a search of the Forum.

Re: Safe password generation

I'm a fan of deterministic password-generators; others may recommend against them, eg. 4 Fatal Flaws in Deterministic Password-Managers . (I feel the arguments are somewhat exaggerated and inaccurate but they are worth considering.) LessPass is free and open source. https://i.postimg.cc/Fz71MKSZ/1-P...

Re: Is there a program which can revert the mouse pointer direction?

I'm no computer expert -- I just have a hobbyist interest in computers and writing naive little programs in AutoIt -- but it occurs to me that the smooth inversion of mouse-movement might not be possible with a simple programmatic solution; a suitable mouse-driver, on the other hand, should do the t...

Re: Is there a program which can revert the mouse pointer direction?

A quick googling gave https://superuser.com/questions/406502/how-can-i-reverse-mouse-movement-x-y-axis-system-wide-win-7-x64 and, on that page, there is mentioned Polynomial's Mouse Inverter (requires NET 4.0) available for download at: https://m.sendspace.com/file/ZJUWFV. I've not pursued it furthe...

Re: Is there a program that can remove duplicate lines in text files?

As a result of a quick googling, I found this:
7 Ways To Remove Duplicate Lines in Text Files.

However, I've pursued it no further: it may or may not be what you want.

Is this acceptable only from moderators or can all of us use profanities?
That's great use of language, billon: you should go far and, the farther away, the better.

Why has the topic, "How Do I combine Rar files?", disappeared.

I got a notification that there was a reply at Fri Jan 25, 2019 9:56 am in the topic, "How Do I combine Rar files?", but clicking the notification link just results with the statement: "The requested topic does not exist."
I'm curious about why it was deleted.

http[colon]//boonwirsdownjohn[dot]ga is a copy of TPFC: WTF?

What the hell is this site, http[colon]//boonwirsdownjohn[dot]ga, about? It's some sort of really poor copy of TPFC.

Does it breach copyright? What purpose does it serve? What does "boonwirsdownjohn" mean or stand for?

WTF?

Re: Ding-Press - 7zip front-end

I've somewhat extended my naive Ding-Press. As before, if used there, it quickly: decompresses .7z, .rar and .zip files compresses folders and other files. V1.53 The shortcut (or shortcuts) for Ding-Press if added to the SendTo menu can take command-line arguments for compression-level (1 - 9) (eg. ...

Re: looking for a portable RSS reader that doesn't use internet explorer

QuiteRSS Portable? https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/quiterss-portable I'm really not sure what you want. Perhaps one of the various online RSS-readers (Feedly, NewsBlur, Inoreader, Feedreader Online, The Old Reader, Feeder, G2Reader, etc.) might do: they are browser-independent and don't requi...

Re: Do you know an app that deletes files/folder on a list?

Batch Delete is naively written in AutoIt by me and has abolutely no warranty. I CANNOT under any circumstances be held liable for any problems that might result from the use of this program. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Your use of the program would mean you fully accept the above. This is an attempt to s...

Re: Ding-Press - 7zip front-end

@Webfork I'm not impressed and I'm really disappointed. I'm being polite (Heaven knows why). At the Github site, the "Read Me.txt" and "License.txt" have been substantively changed without, need I say, my permission. In particular, the "License.txt" once said: Copyright (c) 2018 Paul Edward Cowley (...
