Re: Multi Commander - file manager

Tested actual version 13.5.2981 on Win10 - not stealth.
Creates "MultiCommander"-key in HKCU\Software. Could be triggered by some settings. Deleting apparently doesn't affect functions/settings, but the key reappears on every start.

Re: Tag Scanner

To Midas and all searching for an universal runtimes package: I didn't found a working, extractable package until now - there are several ressources on the net, but the safest way is to grab LibreOffice portable or Firefox portable and take the files bundled there. Of course this means identifying t...

Re: Tag Scanner

TagScanner starting from version 6.18 requires the VC-/Universal runtimes. For systems without this runtimes: copy the runtimes from LibreOffice or Firefox (portable versions will do; pay attention to x86/x64 accordingly) and place them in the root folder of TagScanner. This is the list of required ...

Re: Firefox Portable

Hello Giulia, yes, there are two ways: 1. you can add a file called "FirefoxPortable.ini" where FirefoxPortable.exe resides, containing the following: [FirefoxPortable] FirefoxDirectory=App\Firefox64 You can also find this file in the "Other" folder of a portable installation fro...

Re: Combine batch of images into a PDF

webfork , you already had the solution: FSViewer can not only convert every image to single PDF, but a whole bunch of images into one single PDF. Go to "create" > "multipage builder" Interesting: when saving a single image as PDF, the "options" button is greyed out, bu...

Re: Firefox Portable

Auto-updating the PA-Firefox affects stealthness but not portability. In earlier versions, when the udate download (from inside the "about" dialog) was complete, you were able to ignore the "click here to restart and apply" (or something like that), restart your firefox with the ...

Re: Registry Compactor

It should be mentioned, that after uniextracting you get two executables in the {app} folder: rc,1.exe and rc,2.exe
The smaller one is the 32-bit version - so you can rename them accordingly: rc32.exe and rc64.exe

The program is stealth.

Re: Enable portability with Nircmd

Yes webfork, how SYSTEM pointed out: the "start /wait" command calls the specified program and returns to the next batch line as soon as this program is terminated - just what we want if we have to copy settings over to the program folder and clean up afterwards  Of course there a...

Re: Enable portability with Nircmd

Sorry to say - but for this you don't need Nircmd ;-) In the second line you can simply add the "/wait" (start /wait) switch, it does the job as well. Most non-portable programs, even those with cluttered and complex settings/entries can be made portable with simple batch files like this -...

Bart is not abandoned - version 3.0 dates from 2012, now the developer released v3.1 in december 2019 ! Changelog & info: https://www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/bart/index.html The program looks promising - simple, clean - will test it next week. Deserves a database entry, hopefully I find the time to...

webfork, the information is right beneath the screenshot on the homepage:
