Re: What does your XP looks like in 2022 ?

Re: Clever Dictionary and Article Rewriter (broken abandonware)

You could use "GoldenDict" with the "Roget's Thesaurus".
Search for "Babylon Roget the new thesaurus.bgl".

/* EDIT */
Also : "Soule's Dictionary of English Synonyms.bgl"

Re: Recoll (document content indexer & searcher)

I've digged a little bit deeper into configuration options and found a web page for that.
Results list is customisable :

My index file is 5Gb for approximately 80.000 documents (this includes several encyclopedias).

Re: What does your XP looks like in 2022 ?

You can get the latest "BlackBox" version for windows here . It runs on either 32 or 64 bits systems (auto-detect at install). Should work from XP up to windows 11. There is also Nimi Visuals and Nimi Places (Compiz for windows) on the same page. Check the ZIP archives. You can download 2693 styles ...

Re: Recoll (document content indexer & searcher)

Has anyone actually got this running on Windows or elsewhere? Yep ! Running Recoll on MXLinux here, works great. Building the index can take a while though, particularly if you have thousands of books in your library. Once this is done, results from any query are displayed almost instantaneously......

A short while ago, user Ergo asked about a possible backport for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly to make it run on Windows XP in a discussion about a similar Ion Fury backport, [see here]. Having looked through the code and the MSVC build system of the latest version 1.5.1 of that game made me think I could...

Re: Diablo 2 (+ LOD if you want)

All right, THERE IS a portable open source program to run Infinity Engine games (Baldur's gate 1 & 2, Icewind Dale 1 & 2, Planescape Torment, etc...). It's called GemRB and it runs on Linux & Windows. Here is the homepage : https://gemrb.org/
