Re: Forum suggestions

May I vote for a site-wide dark mode?
For the forum, we can always install another phpBB style. If you spot anything nice, do let us know.

For the main database, I would need someone well versed with CSS to contribute. Unfortunately, I suck at CSS and will not be up to the task!

Thank you Mixture, but we are looking for a web service, not an application.

Help out a ChangeDetection.com orphan!

Hello,

Long time ChangeDetection.com user here.

Since they 'joined' Visualping (paid if you have more than minimum monitors), I'm missing the good old days.

Which replacement you, experienced Portable Freeware users, would recommend?

Re: Video Merge tool

@Midas: We prefer a GUI version, but CLI on ffmpeg is a good catch also! @billon: Thanks for pointing so many solutions! Video to Video was a clear winner, task accomplished beautifully! Thank you, @zorro! About the lack of updates since 2013, I've asked the developer if he would consider making it ...

Re: Video Merge tool

I'm trying them all, having no good experiences. Some of them stop responding, doesn't allow to append files, doesn't accept the file type, etc. We need to do the simplest possible task: just join the video files, *without reencoding*, which most of them are prone to. The file type is pretty common:...

Video Merge tool

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a Video Merge tool.

Should be portable and allowing to choose the filters/codecs used to open the video files, allowing to work around system default codec's issues.

Re: Ghostbuster: any compiled portable version?

Great alternatives!

Thanks a 'bilion' for that! :)

(but I still would like to get Ghostbuster working, as from my tests it (seems) to do a more deep (and still safe) cleaning.)

Ghostbuster: any compiled portable version?

I'm looking for an updated, portable, compiled version of Ghostbuster , which is a tool to detect ghosted devices and remove these if they match selectable devices.

If anyone manage to find or do it, it could be listed on at Portable Freeware, it is a great tool.

Re: Windows System Control Center

Would be really nice to have a command line switch on it to just update files and exit, so this could be scheduled.

I've suggested this ages ago and got no reply from them.

Replace a file at boot

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a portable tool to replace a file at boot time. For instance, a hard one: C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntkrnlpa.exe.

Any recommendations?
