Re: Thunderbird - tabs

Looks like there's an addon that similarly modifies the tab appearance, for those that prefer it.

Re: Microsoft buying Github

From the Hacker News comment thread I was peeking at Github were operating at a loss up till this point, despite having what I thought was a decent business model. A lot of comments I saw suggested moving to Gitlab but some have said they're less stable financially than Github (haven't looked into t...

Re: TaskLayout [display utility]

Seems a few programs have changed their license of late. Do we just link to the last free version (where available) as with other programs that have changed with updates?

The version I have is 0.6.0.2.

Edit: didn't realize it wasn't in the DB yet. In that case it makes no difference

Re: WordWeb - dictionary

Continuing on from the posts made in the comments section I had always assumed the license check about the flights was purely about presumed income levels, but it turns out it's more to do with some goal about reducing emissions? Certainly unique among them.

Re: Classic Browser (Chromium based)

I suppose it's kind of quasi-open source, in that they appear to be open to people joining their team of maintainers but don't host the source on their site. I'm curious about their anti-fingerprinting claims (though they don't mention it by that word), in that they mention the browser gets a 'perfe...

Re: Inviska Rename

I wonder what happened, as the main domain loads a 404 so I'm guessing it's not that the domain name accidentally wasn't paid (though maybe that is still the case). Archive.org only has a single page from March listed and it's a redirect anyway. Too bad I didn't grab the source code as well at the t...

Re: NetTraffic

@Specular I am Baas submitted TCP Monitor Plus to the forum long ago, in fact you commented it two times . Well that's weird. I originally thought I'd discovered it here but when searching the DB it displayed the error of no results found. Yet searching again now it does show as a forum topic resul...

Re: NetTraffic

Looks good. Particularly like that you can select the interface to display bandwidth from. Apart from Windows' included Resource Manager traffic view I sometimes use a network graph program that's portable called TCP Monitor Plus , but didn't create a thread for it at the time since I wasn't sure ho...

I use PotPlayer portably with MadVR set as the video renderer, for times when I want to use MadVR's HDR to SDR tone mapping.

Re: StaxRip - comprehensive video encoder

Tried it many years ago and the UI was all over the place. Still the same today. Main reason it's worth using is it's one of the few GUIs that supports AviSynth, but for general usage other programs are easier to use (for me even ffmpeg which is CLI).
