So this is weird...

So I have "https://www.portablefreeware.com/" as a bookmark, as I'm sure you all do too, the weird thing I'm referring to is I've noticed I have been getting logged out from the site if I click on my bookmark to fast (a miss-click on my end, so it ends up opening two tabs of the site), my cookies fo...

Re: PortExpert

Gave this a try since I'm always on the lookout for useful tools of this nature, but this one unfortunately adds nothing new to the table that Sysinternals' TCPView or NirSoft's many networking tools (CurrPorts, LiveTcpUdpWatch, NetworkTrafficView & IPNetInfo) don't already do, so whats the point?

Re: HOSTS file

Relying solely on uBlock/uMatrix also have limitation because of how Firefox loads its add-ons, it won't block connections on first startup because the browser gets to connect before the addons fully load, so if your homepage is DuckDuckGo, you're probably in the tracking clear, but if you use anoth...

Re: HOSTS file

Seems like a bad idea, nowadays more and more "things" use Google Analytics and other trackers/telemetry that aren't just browser/website related, running a computer search for "Analytics" both for files and in your registry and you might find some programs you use and didn't know about collecting s...

Re: This app rocks! This app sucks! Does this work properly?

Might as well just change those to "add to favorites" and "remove from favorites", then change, or leave the "rocks" / "sucks" for voting purposes, because right now it seems like you can continually downvote an app by doing "this app sucks" over and over again because the option is still left there...

Okay that makes sense now that I know it's tied to the favorites. Thanks.

This app rocks! This app sucks! Does this work properly?

So when I vote for a "This app rocks!" it accepts my vote and removes the option of "This app rocks!" because well duh, its been picked so it makes sense to hide it. https://i.imgur.com/ghu0Csc.png But when I vote for "This app sucks!" the option is still there after my vote, is my vote being saved/...

Re: Great example of commercial software

Just want to state that a subscription model for software is a deal breaker for me Why? More often then not software is now a service that needs constant updating to make work with the constant changing OS, Sandboxie comes to mind here, and PDF-XChange is also constantly evolving for the better, if...

Unfortunately since version 65 Firefox creates "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Mozilla" (%systemdrive%\ProgramData\Mozilla\updates\...) - the portable launcher leaves the folder behind.
Any idea what this file does?

Re: Anything portable out there for viewing Doc / Docx / XLTM Files?

^^ Can't stand LibreOffice honestly, it always have issues with fonts and certain other things looking right, and it's really bloated for just what I want it to do. Anyway I saw a few days back on MajorGeeks a program called DocX Viewer which is what kinda sparked this and reminded me that I need so...

Anything portable out there for viewing Doc / Docx / XLTM Files?

Something like Sumatra PDF but for MS Office type files is what I'm after, does anything like this exists? MS used to have Microsoft Excel Viewer & Word Viewer which are now discontinued but can still be found on places like FileHippo, they were never portable though so I'm not interested in them fo...
