Re: Newer zombie-like browsers...ugh.
Thanks for asking Webfork !!
I still use K-Meleon very regularly, Mypal too - with side helpings of Palemoon (Linux) and Vivaldi (both OSes).
When I looked into viable browser choices for use with Linux I found about 10 decent choices WITHOUT having to use Chrome or Chromium at all.

Re: Newer zombie-like browsers...ugh.
My solution for all of this sort of stuff... Go to a Linux based system; Add all variations of WINE; Have a VM of my own, tweaked XP for anything that isn't WINE friendly. That seems to cover all that matters - and browser choices now abound as well as keeping my most favourite windoze portables wo...

Let me try & better 'splain what I meant - as perhaps my description lacked clarity: When posting at some forum - after hitting 'submit' I belatedly realize that I wanted to save that text as a note via TXT file. Right then I have 2 obvious choices => 1 - copy/paste the post as it appears, but i...

Re: Easiest & Quickest tool to clone Linux ??
I just learned of 'MX Snapshot' - part of 'MX Tools' that comes with MX Linux. https://technophobeconfessions.wordpress.com/2018/04/21/mx-tools-newbie-awesomeness-without-the-ubuntu-risk/ https://mxlinux.org/wiki/help-files/help-mx-save-system-iso-snapshot Since it has a .DEB here: https://github.co...

Re: Easiest & Quickest tool to clone Linux ??
Thanks for the helpful pointer Craunch !! In the time between my OP & now, a friend suggested I look at the free version of Macrium - so I'm going to try that after getting some sleep (it's going on 4AM here...). BTW: I despise Clonezilla - and not just because of its rotten GUI; it has screwed ...

Re: BBCeditor
Does anyone know if this or something like it is able to also strip down an already posted chunk - removing all the tags such that it becomes plain text, as in for note keeping ??
I used to have a program with a strip HTML function but I can't find it.

Reminds me very much of a former love - Zim !!
A shame it requires things that XP SP2 provides as it would be sooo perfect in so many ways for the things I do every day.
Thanks for sharing this info all the same as it was really a pleasure to read through.

Easiest & Quickest tool to clone Linux ??
Hi Folks. Without getting overly specific, from years of doing it I know there are a bunch of really super easy & quick tools to clone that 'other' OS basically in a one-and-done manner. (i.e.: 'Drive Snapshot', etc...) Having "graduated" into a happier time of Linux (Ubuntu Mate) use,...

Re: K-Meleon - lightweight web browser
As a very happy camper (nyuk, nyuk !!) using K-Meleon this very second to post here, I added my reply to this thread for a couple of highly K-M related reasons: 1 - As good as it is, K-M users will find (as I have) that there are things they wish to do that will just not work (i.e.: some forums...);...

I am a user, not the creator of that great browser - perhaps you may suggest that to 'Feodor2' ??

Folks here may wish to give Mypal a try: https://github.com/Feodor2/Mypal/wiki/Portable The info shown here may also be of interest to some folks: https://msfn.org/board/topic/174987-retrozilla-an-updated-version-of-mozilla-for-windows-95-and-nt4-21-released/?do=findComment&comment=1154373 I mai...

Re: Solved/found=> URLs to HTML link page.
Thank You Stoik, I will try that. Edit: OK, I did. For whatever reason, it did not open/run on my system. The other app however ('Easy Text To HTML Converter'), once unpacked and stripped down, appears to be fine, so I guess it's to be that one, at least for now. I am always grateful when UE does su...

Re: URLs to HTML link page...easily, somehow ??
Thanks Lintalist. I have not learned AHK (yet ??). As mentioned up^ there... Searched on TXT to HTML and found: 'Easy Text To HTML Converter', here=> http://www.easyhtools.com/ Unpacked it with UE, fed it a TXT file...presto - the desired link page was generated instantly !! Thanks and Best Wishes.

Re: Solved/found=> URLs to HTML link page.
Thanks Folks. Maybe I didn't understand it correctly... what about using "Linkify" bookmarklet? My bad, I should have 'splained a bit more from the start...sorry 'bout dat. Call me insane or whatever you like, but in addition to my various other browsers, I am delighted to use Pocket K-Mel...
