Re: portable metronome

I noticed in the pic of an app that's in the TPFC database -> (ChordEase) https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2631 - there's a metronome within the app that might work for you. ChordEase is only a 2MB download... https://chordease.sourceforge.net/index.html Don't forget to check the Catego...

Re: portable metronome

Hi bastosx :) I'm sure there's many tools like this but the more accurate choices are likely found within a larger tool like a DAW. I did find this little app (OpenMetronome), it's free and portable -> https://sourceforge.net/projects/openmetronome/ - it got good feedback, give it a try. There's thi...

Re: Fastest method for deleting massive directories in Windows

It's not larges files, it's lot of small files. For example, I keep all the photos/videos taken over the past 20y on my HDD. The total size is only about 200GB, but there are >100k files in there (sorted into subfolders I may add). I keep incremental backups on some other HDDs. Sometimes when I hav...

Re: Fastest method for deleting massive directories in Windows

10TB, man that's a lot of data to have to monkey with. I put a 500GB SSD in may laptop in 2019, I still have 458GB left. In fact, I believe I still have every drive I've ever installed in any system stored in a box somewhere, including 2 40GB or 80GB WD that still work... I enjoy every now and then ...

Hope that clears things up.

Re: CrystalDiskInfo

As long as you have a rank of 1 and above (which you do), you should see a "Edit this entry" link on the left of each listing: Clicking on that link should allow you to edit the entry directly. Thanks for the info, I believe I updated CrystalDiskInfo correctly, lets see if it makes it to ...

CrystalDiskInfo 8.17.7 [2022/09/12] * Fixed minor bugs I had been wanting to ask but keep forgetting, is there any special status required to update an entry to the latest version, etc? It would seem to make more sense simply to update the entry myself rather than leave it to someone else, unless o...

Re: Hiren's Boot CD

I believe HBCD v.15.2 is the most complete version, though I am not 100% sure! The Old Versions page has v15.2 @ ~600MB, the newer version of HBCD, referred to as PE x64 (v1.0.2) is @ ~3GB. -> https://www.hirensbootcd.org/old-versions/ -> https://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/ The About page is wor...

Re: Flow Launcher

One look at the ZIP filesize of Flow Launcher tells me all I need to know. It's 192MB! As for Executor, you should be able to disable its caching under the 'Settings - Indexing & Cache' options menu. Yeah, Flow Launcher is too big a download and does more than I need so I passed on it, but it d...

Re: DRM again

I would caution using older versions of any browser. About the DRM thing, the latest version of Firefox might fix that. Try Firefox Portable to test things out first. If not Firefox, try Microsoft Edge. It's already bundled in Windows 10 and up and TubiTV should work with that. I didn't update to t...

Re: Hiren's Boot CD

I think it was HBCD I created a bootable thumb drive from just to use Macrium v7.3... the environment used Windows 10 PE and worked very well.

Re: DRM again

I'm still running Firefox 80, mostly because of uncertainty about how much newer versions of the browser can be tweaked. Until recently I had DRM disabled and uninstalled (IIRC the Widevine addon has something to do with DRM) but went ahead and checked DRM in Options and installed Widevine so I coul...

Flow Launcher

This is more of a discussion rather than a suggested submission. I've been using Executor as a program launcher for a while but I'm not completely sold on it... one of the biggest issues is Executor will need to rebuild it's cache or something - not really sure what's going on but when I open it the...
