Re: ClamScan (part of ClamAV Windows port)

Curious what hardware you're using. I'm using an i7-7700k (about 7 years old) and the database loads in about 15 seconds.

If you're thinking a USB folder, I put together a quick one with AI: https://i.imgur.com/Nz2TZcZ.png

Or a more icon-ish one that could be colored to match the logo: https://imgur.com/a/rOYVkIF

Re: PeerBlock - block anti-file sharing, ads, spyware, etc.

I have a way to update them directly within the app but I need to create a server component to do the updating, combination (possibly), repackaging, and caching for it to work. I don't really have the time or resources for it at present, though.

Going to post this here since I do not have an account over at portableapps.com. Hopefully @JohnTHaller sees it. sPortable 8.90.0.405 cannot be installed. Re: PeerBlock - block anti-file sharing, ads, spyware, etc.

I've put together PeerBlock Plus Portable, replacing our existing PeerBlock Portable package. It comes bundled the combined list from divadsn which is automatically updated daily as you start the app. I may update it to also include the CombinedPrivacyBlockLists combined p2p as well. Depends on whet...

Re: ExifTool GUI - metadata editor

The PA.c Package is 32-bit only as the bit doing the heavy lifting, exiftool.exe, is only 32-bit.

Re: PeerBlock - block anti-file sharing, ads, spyware, etc.

Would folks be interested in a package of PeerBlock Portable that automatically downloads the linked list on maybe a daily basis?

Which comments on app listings should be deleted?

I was wondering if there was a policy on which comments on app listings should be deleted. I've noticed quite a few have things like "Version 2.1 is available" and then "updated listed to 2.1". Or one that says "version 1.1 isn't installing" from 2016. Is delete just fo...

Firefox 116 drops Windows 7/8, 115.x ESR Continues

With the 116 release of Firefox, Mozilla has ended support for Windows 7/8/8.1. A 115.x ESR branch will be maintained through Sept 2024. PortableApps.com has created a special package of this which will automatically be created for users on these versions of Windows as they upgrade from Firefox Port...

I forgot the PFC database uses *BYTES* for entries. Nothing else I ever use has in the last 10 years.

I believe the 32-bit version is no longer officially supported by the publisher but is still receiving updates for now.

Re: zmPortable (Launcher for Zoom) released by PortableApps.com

Nice! I see it has "Download 32-bit" but not "Download 64-bit", should it be fixed per this description? Also, by 7/8.1 did you also mean 10/11 or is it different there? The copy of Zoom itself is the 32-bit version. It will automatically download a full Chromium-based browser o...
