FTP is old technology and is being replaced by WebDAV, which is much better for many reasons. I have strong doubts, that FTP is ever being replaced. WebDAV seems to be very weak. Connections are breaking often, obviously there is no resume and finally it's not very well supported by the software pr...

It would be clearer if you indicate who you are directly your reply to... OK, my mistake. drivers It's not only about drivers but everything that changes the host more dramatically than only the system MRU. I believe there are applications, that have to change the host to work properly regardless h...

We all know that file associations and shell extensions are not portable. I have replied to someones comments. My intention wasn't starting a discussion about portability/stealth but giving info to him, because it seemed not clear to him, what you assume everybody knows. Have you removed my comment...

...OpenOffice that keeps track of recent documents... For me it's not the question, whether but where they do it. If they write the MRU to the host, they are not stealth, if they use a file in the app folder they are. Either way they are portable. Or did you mean, they are arguable not portable, be...

WebDAV client
Hi
Does anybody know a portable WebDAV client. I don't know exactly what BarracudaDrive is good for. I have an email provider with one GB storage, which is accessible via WebDAV but unfortunately not via FTP. I know and use WebDrive or NetDrive but it's totally non-portable.

But if you look at the comments, the purists say I shouldn't list such apps in the dataabse! To them, registry writes = not portable, which I disagree with. If you want a yes or no from me, I would like to see all non-stealth applications banned as well, not because they are not portable but there ...

I fully agree towards strict and easy to follow definitions if it comes to grading. It seems not too hard. Here my suggestion: category 1: running from external write protected devices, stealthy EVEN in the case of a crash category 2: running from external writable devices, stealthy EVEN in the case...

Why so blurry definitions like 'overly affect the usage' or 'likely to be used frequently'? It's just food for further discussions. As I see the discussion going on the most purists just want to see non-stealth portable software (thanks to opsimathic for the clear distinction) more clearly marked as...

First thanks to Andrew to open a discussion in the forum and a sorry for cluttering the application section! I have no desires or opinions for or against the triggering application LSASecretsView, I don't even know, what it exactly does. My opinion is based on principle and I don't make exceptions r...
