CommonMark (Markdown standard specification)

CommonMark v0.28 released, dated 2018-08-01 (https://spec.commonmark.org/changelog.txt). This document attempts to specify Markdown syntax unambiguously. It contains many examples with side-by-side Markdown and HTML. These are intended to double as conformance tests. An accompanying script spec_tes...

Re: TextAdept - programmer's editor

Textadept does not track you. It does not attempt to connect to the internet. It is just a text editor.

Re: Need downloader

Nice tips there, lintalist . 8) FYI, we have a forum topic devoted to wget updates (https://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20900, which also points to CURL windows binaries) -- but as you said it doesn't really matter which version you use for simple downloads. Although I'd advise p...

Re: Wyam - static content generator toolkit (CLI)

Wyam is a Native American name for the Celilo Falls area and is also roughly translated as "echo of falling water" or "sound of water upon the rocks". @ https://wyam.io/docs/resources/some-background Cool name, indeed! 8) Let's see how I fare with it -- this sure looks interesting: How to setup a b...

Re: Any portable app for two-way sync with MTP device?

In my experience, MTP is flaky to say the least...

I don't usually transfer much data so I make do with Dropbox -- but it's good to know there are other routes. 8)

Re: CCleaner Portable

I thought that would be clear: as the article pinpoints, most "anonymized" data can easily be traced back to individual users, so Piriform's claims don't hold much water to me. But if my post offends you in any way, I'll gladly move it elsewhere.

Re: Firefox Portable

Someday, I will make that quantum super speed Firefox my main browser. But everyday Mozilla keeps pushing that day back. As a decades old Firefox user, that kind of sums my position up really. I'm keeping my portable SeaMonkey for the time being and don't foresee switching to it in the near future....

Been meaning to write something about how disapointed I have been with the latest Firefox updates without being able to pinpoint objective reasons for that... But here's one: Mozilla's reason for removing descriptions is simple: descriptions are a minor feature, they are limited in use as search doe...
