Re: Tartube (online video downloader)

Hi axcore , welcome to TPFC forums and thank you for clearing that. 8) I couldn't fully test Tartube as when I tried to do so, it proceeded to download in excess of 2GB of files before I had to forcefully kill it for fear of running out of storage space in the drive I was setting it up. Can anyone e...

Re: Direct Folders [filesystem launcher]

If it requires yaP, Direct Folders is manifestly not natively portable -- so, moving topic... tell me if you disagree.

Re: Tartube (online video downloader)

Following up my quick test with Videomass, I suspect Tartube also falls in the "no-install" genre so, until further contrary evidence, I'll move the topic to "Not Portable" as well.

Re: Videomass (video downloader/converter)

Shame, after some quick testing of Videomass and although settings and presets are initially located in the ' share ' sub-folder, they get copied to ' %APPDATA%\videomass' after the first run, making Videomass neither portable nor stealth, just " no-install "... As I couldn't find a built-in workaro...

Videomass (video downloader/converter)

Videomass is yet another recent find I wasn't able to thoroughly test but seemingly natively portable, it deserves a quick post, IMHO. Videomass is a cross-platform GUI designed for FFmpeg enthusiasts who need to manage custom profiles to automate conversion/transcoding processes. It is based on an...

Tartube (online video downloader)

There are portable downloads of (both 32 and 64-bit) Tartube , so I reckon it deserves a quick post. Tartube is a GUI front-end for youtube-dl , yt-dlp and other compatible video downloaders. It is partly based on youtube-dl-gui and is written in Python3/Gtk3. Tartube runs on MS Windows, Linux, BSD ...

Re: Eassos DiskGenius [formerly PartitionGuru]

New 1. Support to migrate Windows to VirtualBox . [...] This looks really interesting. Anyone testing it, by chance? I'd be particularly interested in knowing if it creates a VDI or VHD out a regular Windows setup. EDIT: Well, I went searching and found this info in the official site -- not a full ...

Re: Signal - cross-platform secure messaging (64-bit only)

Better news for Signal (also for Telegram ): Sensor Tower Store Intelligence data reveals that mobile users flocked to alternatives led by Telegram and Signal following the announcement. In the first four months of 2021, Telegram ’s installs climbed 98% year-over-year to more than 161 million, while...

Re: Audacity - multi-track audio editor

Here's the first I saw regarding the matter: While there’s no question that Muse Group bungled things pretty badly here and got started on the wrong foot, it seems they’re looking to make it right and give the community the respect it deserves. hackaday.com /2021/05/17/telemetry-debate-rocks-audacit...

Re: Pocket Radio Player

I released PRP build #210522. Is there a way to update / report the database entry here? I updated the version number in Pocket Radio Player database entry -- you could do the same if you log on and click the sidebar edit button... 8) BTW, is there any reason the changelog isn't linked in PRP's hom...

Re: scrcpy (Android desktop emulator)

 FYI, the standalone official adb /fastboot tools for all OSes can be downloaded from https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools (currently v31.0.2, released April 2021). OTOH and to the best of my knowledge, drivers are device dependent and usually available from the device ...
