Re: WinFindr 1.4 - A new way to search for files and registry data

Did anyone check if it's really portable? I wanted a way to search for PDF contents so gave it a quick look, but it found 0 results (unless I looked just for *.pdf and then it worked and still was slow). So as far as I know, it's false advertising. I don't need an external program to look for file n...

Re: AutoRun LWMenu

It's simply because you try to delete it twice : service=USBSafelyRemoveService|USBSafelyRemoveService|E:\Temp\USBSafelyRemove\App\USBSRService.exe service=USBSafelyRemoveService Either have just this: service=USBSafelyRemoveService|USBSafelyRemoveService|E:\Temp\USBSafelyRemove\App\USBSRService.exe...

Re: AutoRun LWMenu

It will be deleted automatically upon exiting relativepathandfilename (use service=USBSafelyRemoveService alone to have just the deletion without the creation part).

Not waiting for the program to start must be a clash with skiptobutton.
Can you try it again in the latest beta?

Re: AutoRun LWMenu

I didn't understand how to start the service. There is such a bat.the file that starts the service. You can write a line with this command in service= @echo off sc create USBSafelyRemoveService binPath= "E:\Temp\USBSafelyRemove\App\USBSRService.exe" sc start USBSafelyRemoveService This BA...

Re: AutoRun LWMenu

Yeah, that's unfortunately not how it works, otherwise PortableFreeware wouldn't have had to have 32 and 64-bit entries for each and every item in the entire database...you can read why here (the comments are interesting too). It seems the only way around it is creating a 32-bit main file and lettin...

Re: AutoRun LWMenu

Hooray!
It should be UTF8 even regardless of drivers, what's the benefit of anything else?
If you open a new Notepad, the default is UTF8. Anything else means working in a non standard way.

Re: AutoRun LWMenu

Don't know if it's related or not, but 2486 is quite an old sub-version of 22H2, see in Wikipedia and expand "Public patches", so you might want to upgrade into a newer sub-version of 22H2. But wait, so did the newest temporary release fix both cases? BTW, in the newer pastebin list, it's ...

Re: AutoRun LWMenu

Which Windows do you have? And what happens when you click OK and approve the admin prompts? As for the other driver, this is super tricky because if I went by DeviceName or Description (both of which have Realtek Bluetooth 5.0 Adapter), I would miss out ƒинамики (VIA HD Audio(Win 10)) which does ha...

Re: AutoRun LWMenu

Which message do you get for the non English driver name? In any case, save the following as driverlist.vbs and double click it, it will generate driverlist.txt . Does this txt file include a FriendlyName of any of these drivers? (e.g. FriendlyName: Realtek Bluetooth 5.0 Adapter )? Better yet, copy ...

Re: AutoRun LWMenu

But since the code is already there, what do you mean the deletion stopped?
Did it help to add support for non English names in drivers and in general?

Re: AutoRun LWMenu

it's not about drivers, it's about no one ever requested to support non English entries. INF is a sub-type of INI and Windows' API doesn't support grabbing Unicode INI files. So I've added a hack to assume all entries are non English and thus convert them to English, could you try again with this t...

Re: AutoRun LWMenu

Yeah, you were supposed an error if it doesn't work. Well, turns out Windows simply provides no API to remove drivers, and my head exploded from trying to find API methods for this anyway. In addition, Services show both a unique name and a display name...while Device Manager shows just display name...

Re: AutoRun LWMenu

Did it pop an error when it tried to remove the driver (in both versions)?

As for services, I guess I will add a + like services="+cmd|cmd.exe" with | because it needs both a name and a command.
