I think the Post Office mail box analogy works quite well. You start with a wall of of mailboxes, all empty and each mailbox has it's own number. As you need to store information you begin to fill mailboxes, keeping track of which mailbox number stores what information. When you need to retrieve a c...

On the plus side, at least you know the application is being actively developed!

I used this program for the first time yesterday... I was quite impressed, seems to do a pretty good job. Defragged all my fixed drives and I didn't have to lift a finger...just let it run and do its thing.

An application that is stealthy won't leave behind any trace on the host machine that it was ever run, which includes registry keys and/or temporary files. However, some portable applications may leave behind traces like those mentioned. Most people aren't concerned with stealth particularly if the ...

By the way, I don't want to knock the original suggestion... I have tried this program myself and it is interesting but I found it a little fiddly to configure. Miranda doesn't seem to take up a lot of space as far as I'm concerned so I've stuck to using it instead. It is a very interesting concept ...

Or you could just Meebo.com, which doesn't use any space at all on your usb flash drive. Well, unless you're running a portable browser, in which case maybe a few temporary Internet files. So technically, it would take up some space but you get the idea.

I think you reach a point whereby, if you are trying to completely bypass the functionality of an operating system, why not just switch operating systems. I have to confess I don't know a lot about MojoPac but it sounds like you would be better off running a small Linux distribution of a flash drive...

So welcome back to you too then. :)

As far as JauntPE is concerned I'm kinda confused because I was under the impression that Redlar was not going to work on it anymore... talk about peer pressure!

Windows HLP files typically create index and contents files in the location from which they are first opened. I don't know if this is the file/files that you are referring to. Typically though, these can be deleted without any detriment to the help file and then next time the help file is run, they ...

I'm back... and I hope to be able to check this website more frequently now.

Life got in the way but I can go back to pretending I have one again... huzzah!

You'll have to bear with me for a while, as it'll take some time to see what's been going on.

Aggressive Anti-Phishing sites

Does anyone know of any Internet communities that "aggressively" fight-back against phishing websites? I recently received a Paypal phishing email and took great delight at providing "Paypal" with a choice-word/s username and password. I found it to be of great stress relief to g...

!!Off-On-A-Tangent Alert!! P.S. Isn't "Mono" also some contagious disease, that I've only ever heard referenced in the United States? Does anyone know what Mono (the disease) is called in Europe (assuming a different name, since I've never heard of it before)? It's like how American's use...

I doubt very much that Microsoft intended for the .net Platform to be engineered for operating systems other than Windows (and why should they? They don't want the additional burden of supporting operating systems other than their own). The fact that somebody is/has done it is great but why go to al...

Oh dear, this seems like a rather backwards move. Although, why upgrade? Doesn't Keepass 1.x have all the features you need? I'm going to stick with it until I have absolutely no option but to use something else. Another important repercussion of deciding to use .Net for version 2.x is that Keepass ...
